Should Christians listen to trashy lyrics?

And some of us don't feel this "unction," and I don't think that makes us any less godly either.

it was meant to be i just choice based on what the lord told me through scripture to guard one's heart, i'm no holier than anyone here, it's christ who perfects me, not man.

I say no you have artists who take the Lords name in vain and some christians look the other way at this. I feel it is disgusting. I know lots of teenagers like rap and if they want to listen to rap i would hear them play christian rap over the secular rap. Here are some rappers I like KJ52, Grits, Pettidee, Tapwater, Redcloud, Man Of War. Some will try to say that DC Talk was rap but it wasn't because rap is music that raps more than it sings. I also besides liking christian rap also like christian punk. Some will say that christian punk is an oxymoron but I don't look at the style of music when i listen to songs as much as I do the lyrics. I do listen to some classic rock though too like Reo Speedwagon, Journey, Boston and Kansas are my favorite bands of classic rock. I even write my own song lyrics but can't play an instrument. I also use to write my own rhymes/raps/flows whatever you want to call them.

It's between you and the Lord. I stay away as I get more out of CCM in my daily fruits than I do out of secular music, but whatever you do, take it up with the lord. He directed me to mainly CCM, and that's all I really buy nowadays. I'll listen to it, but my money goes towards Christian music.

Now for those who say it's bad because of lyrics, is that something the Lord told you, or someone else told you and you believed them? Make sure it's the Lord giving you the instruction, not man. Corinthians 1 talks about not being bound by another mans conscience. Now, you can listen to their viewpoints and all, but make sure the Lord directs you in this direction.

Also, if someone gets you with if theres any doubt at all, stay away, think about what they say. Did you know that Pac Man turned a child into a drug addict? Did you know that letting Teenagers drive increases the chances they will die? I understand the logic in this argument, but I still find it flawed non the less. I think this calls for consideration of both viewpoints though.
