Should Christians stump other Christians?

Should Christians stump other Christians? In othe words, should we play the "gotcha game" with other Christians? That means when you know you are right about something and then get them in a trap. Basically it is saying "told you so". Should we do it?

Well, we shouldn't try to 'one up' eachother just for the prupose of "stumping", but we should stand for the truth even against other christians. :)

I think a house divided could fall. Instead of Christians going against each other (both thinking they are right and righteous) we should work together, pray together, learn together. Of course, being human, it's not easy for any of us. God help us all!

Ditto. Nicely stated JoJo!

My question is this: what is the motivation behind trying to set anyone up to be "stumped"? If you're just playing around is one thing, but if you are seriously trying to embarass or humiliate someone it is wrong regardless of whether the other person is a believer or not.

I wonder why the question? Has someone been messing with you?

You are right. Those are definitely not good intentions. A bigger problem that occurs...is when we've laid our theology out on the line...and someone has corrected us...but we are too stubborn to accept it.
Of course that has never happened to me. Honestly, I do try to stick with what the word says...and if someone can show me different...I try to be receptive. However, some think they have you in that position, and they really are just being stubborn themselves.
First and foremost...What does God have to say to you.
