Should Christians Support TBN?

NO, and a thousand times no to TBN.

I totally agree with the bibleberean(which doesn't happen too often :D ).

It is loaded with false doctrine and charismatic excesses.

I like it! We agree on something!

TBN proclaims the basic fundamentalist doctrine and is evangelical....

Why NOT support it!

It is a way to normalize believers to the Godly standards and pull in the stray sheep from blaphemous individuation......

They also do a lot of charity work......

What I have seen from TBN......

A love for Christ and the Bible

The overwhelming urge to convert the unbelievers

The need to normalize "mentally unstable" individuals outside the faith group

A distaste for materialism in favor of seeking the Kingdom of Heaven

Charity outreach

Gifts of the Holy Spirit

Preaching

Cool old Moses movies

(All these criteria should be acceptable to Christians..... Why the hate for this evangelical outreach mission?)

You are wrong. Yes, they be evangelists but they are for the most part a fringe charismatic group. Who cares if they do chairty work?

Isa 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

I know where you can buy a few bottles of Miracle Spring Water. :-?

I don't want to be normalized by a pink-headed women who thinks she is hiding her age. She forgot to have her neck lifted whenever she had her face done. Not only that they only give a small portion of their money to charity. Money which they have gotten from peoples little old grandmothers who don't have enough to take care of themselves.

von,

lol :)

Well I tried to defend it but I admit it is hard.....

They do have good Moses and Joshua movies though.....

They probably copuld feed at least ten starving black kids with all that jewlry..... but than again who am I to judge....

They are not "ashamed" of the Gospel though that is for sure! They shout and sing and praise in a loud manner!

James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

Is that the definition of your 'g'ospel??? Try 1 Kings 22:19-23. Then 1 Kings 18:26-38 (yea, I know, a lot of reading & not enough emotion and noise :( ) Try Hebrews 6:6. But one thing is for sure, if they are of the Revelation 17:5 crew, one could not be saved by being a 'known' partaker of this! Revelation 18:4.

A love for Christ and the Bible
I just see people who love what the bible and Jesus offer here on earth but not really as much in eternity if you catch my drift. There is teaching that shows not a love for the bible, but ignorance of the bible. There may be certain programs that are ok on TBN, but the majority infuriate me, esp Benny Hinn  .

A distaste for materialism in favor of seeking the Kingdom of Heaven
Your kidding me right? Has anyone seen the big pink hair, the makeup, the giant sparkly grand piano? The huge brick of money in front of Hinn's "church"? The lives that these "preachers" are living in wealth? There may be a few good teachers, but they should be careful not to be associated with peddlers of heresy that are on this channel.

Gifts of the Holy Spirit
I'm not sure the Holy spirit is the one offering up these gifts in a few of these preachers.

Preaching
Not all preaching is good.

They are not "ashamed" of the Gospel though that is for sure! They shout and sing and praise in a loud manner!
It would be a little easier to preach and shout a watered down happy go lucky wealth gospel that many do preach on this channel. And not the cross a believer in Christ must take up every day.

I agree. As long as they are riding around in rolls royces and mercedes benz, wearing $3,000 suits, and so forth., then they are not giving enough to charity.
