Bible Study Should I tithe or pay my bills first? Do we rob God when we don't tithe?

So if one is disabiled abd a widow and tithes 10 percent one should expect that need to be on food stamps ,and ssdi,to go,away ?

No, you don't report a blessing from God so they can take it off of the food stamps or check. You have no need to call those people, rather putting everything into the Lord's hands in prayer...and don't worry about it. Cling to the Lord and
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6)

Brother, you are trying to split hairs. No those people are not obligated to tithe. They are the reason others who have more tithe. To help the poor. Anywhere there is a need.

They probably could tithe and be blessed for it. But most times they are dealing with other issues also, so don't. I've started tithing on my ssdi check each month. I crunched the numbers several times and their check is not enough for me to keep up the same lifestyle as I had in Colorado. It just isn't there. And you know what? Every month, it's like I get a blessing somehow...and it works. I'm not missing any meals and the lights are on. Yes, last month it was my Stimulus check, but, Glory to God for that and not Trump! Trump is ok, I like him but that was from God and I know it.

But it's not a everybody has to pay even if you're poor already thing. It's a have the character of Jesus type of heart and help if you can, ask for help if you can't. Tithing is a good thing for the people and it is not a negative thing put upon His people.
That's not what most tithing churches that use Malachi 3 say.

Trust me I posted that story for a reason .

My,wife is disabled ,I pay more then my,mortgage without escrow to keep, her medical conditions in treatment .

Rent for a house my,size ,unless you,suggest the section 8,is 1300 to 1700 a month .

Since most churches deal with that income here ,kinda hard to teach tithing without govt printed money being used.you do know the fact taxes we pay will never cover 1 trillion or 2 .we simply, are printing money .
Thars another thread ,despite that ,yes the so called pay back for robbery helped ,but I wasn't in need of it .most are blowing money .I see things and have friends in the USPS ,ups they mention it.

I was talking about those who are on it and whole or majority of churches in the lower income areas tithing while on tanf.

Trust me ,I know my dominion ,Gifford has 4 churches back to back on a few routes.

Let me list .

Gifford driving route with in a mile ,4.
Gifford middle 5.Gifford aka the jail route 5,
Gifford manor 5.these are within minutes of eacj other and that's only those I read, there are more!.

These are tiny ,save a few .yet most are in the lowest income area.I know a few that teach tithing ,I know i have listened to them.three or more .these are poor churches .I point this out to show how it doesn't make sense to have tanf reciepinebtd on an average income of 23 k,a year ,tithjng .

Would it make sense to ask the poor there to skip the water bill ,and have me over cutting it off and them simply asking the same church they donated to pay it?

No.that's the point .I'm,all for giving .you, are a really using offering ,not tithing ,

The doctrine of tithing I was taught .

10 percent of your income first ,plus offerings which is your level ,this is taught as blessing if you do ,curse if you don't ,its also taught with verbage akin to baptism and communion by some.

I know I have heard it for years in a few churches .again I'm for giving ,but never at the point of simply giving them after church the next day hitting the pantry .seen it.and done it

The word of God always say bring the tithe. It never says give because you can't give what does not belong to you. Give means offering. According to the bible there is only two things you can do with a tithe - You can bring it to Gods house or you can steal it.

While the tithe is mandatory, the offering is voluntary. We determine the amount of the offering, and it is from the heart. But an offering is never an offering until we have given the full tithe.

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:21 NIV

If love is not our motivation, whatever we give equals zero and amounts to nothing (1 Corinthians 13:3 NKJV). When we perform and try to meet the demands of the Law, we fall under the curse of trying to get God to “do” something (Galatians 3:10-14). The concept of giving and tithing is not based on money itself, it is about trust. When we give, it is no longer just giving money—it is authenticating our love and trust in God. Luke 16: 9-13 NKJV

Proverbs 3:9-10 Amplified Bible (AMP)
9 Honor the Lord with your wealth
And with the first fruits of all your crops (income);
10 Then your barns will be abundantly filled
And your vats will overflow with new wine.

Will I be under a curse if I don't tithe (in good ground)? Will God continue to rebuke (turn back or keep down) the devourer (Satan)?
I believe so, we have to take those verses in particular in their literal context. Many Christians are suffering and many Christians do not believe in tithing. I tithe personally because it helps the church and keeps the preaching going and keeps the doors open.

If you DONOT tithe you will be under the curse of scarcity!
