Should we water down the Gospel to make it more likable?

Gal 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one who continueth not in all things that are written in the book of the law, to do them.

Jesus fulfilled the Law so in Him , the conditions have been met, so now we can be blessed and not cursed:

Deu 7:14 Thou shalt be blessed above all peoples: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle.
Deu 7:15 And Jehovah will take away from thee all sickness; and none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, will he put upon thee, but will lay them upon all them that hate thee. 1Pe 2:24 who his own self bare our sins in his body upon the tree, that we, having died unto sins, might live unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed.

That is Good News :) Health !

Isa 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is upon me;......... he hath sent me ...... to proclaim liberty to the captives.........Joh 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up his spirit.

That is Good News :) no more bondage to sin !

I think the best news would be that we can live forever in paradise with Him. Living forever where nothing ever goes wrong and there is no pain or sorrow etc. What better news could there be? Lol. ;) :D

Well, that would be nice. But at the moment that is still a while a way. I know God dealt with the curse in THIS life :)

Here is something great about being a Christian: 1Jn 2:6 he that saith he abideth in him ought himself also to walk even as he walked. Wow !

So when are we like Him?

1Jn 4:17 .........because as he is, even so are we in this world.

Sounds like Good News to me :)

I dunno, if I share the "good news" with an unbeliever, I'll just say, "hey, you wanna live forever?" Lol. ;) :D

But for Christians, yes, your point is good news. ;) :D

Don't you think that perhaps that is why the gospel is watered down? I mean, aren't we suppose to deliver the Good News to unbelievers, so that they know exactly what the gospel is?Jud 1:3 Beloved, while I was giving all diligence to write unto you of our common salvation, I was constrained to write unto you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered unto the saints.

Most Christians do not even know what the word salvation means, because preachers preach the wrong gospel.

I dunno.

What were the apostles preaching to the unbelievers?

Act 10:42 And he charged us to preach unto the people, and to testify that this is he who is ordained of God to be the Judge of the living and the dead.
Act 10:43 To him bear all the prophets witness, that through his name every one that believeth on him shall receive remission of sins.

I don't really ask people if they want to live forever. Lol. Just making a point about good news. ;) :D

The only time I really share is when I believe the HS is moving me to, or at an appropriate time if it comes up in a conversation.

Preach the Gospel (Good news !) AND tell them how to get to salvation.

Here is what salvation means :G4991
ÃÉÄηÃÂία
sÃ…ÂtÄ“ria
so-tay-ree'-ah
Feminine of a derivative of G4990 as (properly abstract) noun; rescue or safety (physically or morally): - deliver, health, salvation, save, saving.

So when we preach the Gospel, we HAVE to tell them that Jesus delivered us from sickness, bondage, sin, lack, danger, etc. Paul preached it and LIVED it too:2Co 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God, and not from ourselves;
2Co 4:8 we are pressed on every side, yet not straitened; perplexed, yet not unto despair;
2Co 4:9 pursued, yet not forsaken; smitten down, yet not destroyed;
2Co 4:10 always bearing about in the body the dying of Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our body.
2Co 4:11 For we who live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh.

Preach the Gospel (Good news !) AND tell them how to get to salvation.
What? What do you mean by this?

We are to preach Christ and Him crucified and preach the whole of the gospel, not in piece meal. Salvation is in Christ alone, and the Holy Spirit, by our hearing the Word, breathes life in the soul of a sinner. It is the work of God, not man.
The gospel in the power unto salvation, not us learning how to be saved.

We are saved from what ?
We are saved from the wrath of God, by God Himself.

We are saved from more than just the wrath of God. The word salvation is soteria and if you ask a Greek, they will tell you it means, to have all your needs met like a little baby.

We neglect this great salvation, if we do not know what we were saved from. You were saved from the curse and all that , that curse brought with it.

I am repeating this scripture:

Act 10:43 To him bear all the prophets witness, that through his name every one that believeth on him shall receive remission of sins.

Two things : Preach and testify about Jesus.

Two things:
1)You have to tell them about Jesus and that He is the Son of God who died for their sins.
2)You have to preach the gospel, that the curse has been removed and that all their bondage, sins, sickness, lack, and need, were taken care of on the cross. You have to tell them what it means to have been translated from the kingdom of darkness, into the Kingdom of Light.

Again we are saved from the Wrath of God by God Himself.
You said: "We are saved from more than just the wrath of God. The word salvation is soteria and if you ask a Greek, they will tell you it means, to have all your needs met like a little baby."

You seem to be mixing things up here, you asked what we are saved from, correct? We are not saved from having all our needs met like a babe. If we had all our needs met by God, what would we need to be saved from, considering "all need met" we wouldn't need to be saved from God's wrath since it would be included in/with the "all."

We are saved from the Wrath of God, by God Himself, when saved (soteria), then, and only then do we have all our needs met like a baby, and this is "In Christ." All our needs are met in Christ and in Him alone. And being in Christ, we are saved from the wrath of God.

Cornelius, I agree with srcriture, every one who believes on Christ shall be saved! Amen.

Ok.

I disagree here. That's putting the buggy before the horse. The curse, bondage, sickness ect...are not removed or taken care of before they "believe in Christ," for until they believe, they remain under the curse and therefore, the wrath of God at judgment.

You have to tell them what it means to have been translated from the kingdom of darkness, into the Kingdom of Light.
How would you tell them so they can understand? Spiritual things are foolish to those who are perishing. They cannot understand life in Christ while they are dead. They need to hear the gospel, "the word of God" this is the power of salvation, when a sinner hears the word, the Holy Spirit does His regenerating work, and gives a new heart. This you, I, nor the sinner hearing the word can do. All we can do is plant, water, and God causes the increase.

On that note, again, the word of God needs to be preached in it's whole, God knows how to use His living word. It is not up to us to take it apart and decide what parts to use and what parts to not use.
We plant and water. When you plant a seed, do you cut it in half or quarters, or thirds and say, ill use this part? Choosing what parts you believe will produce the best crop? Or do you plant the whole seed and have faith between the rain, weather and God, it will grow and the crop will increase?

LOL I am not going to start splitting hairs with you. Its simple. We have to preach to whole gospel to people, which includes : Jesus died for them, He died for the forgiveness of sin, He took the curse upon Himself, He took the sin of the world away so that we do not have to live under sin anymore, through His stripes we were healed and are healed, He supplies all our need according to His riches and glory, He has placed Satan under our feet. Basically dealt with all the things which would bring the wrath of God . His salvation includes more than just "fire insurance". And yes, all of this only happens in Christ.

I wont split hairs either. So far none split, I have no problem keeping it that way. Though I am sure we would disagree in (perhaps) many ways. That's ok, its good to agree to disagree.

Ill leave it with this:

Everyone is and remains under the curse until they are redeemed in Christ, Not before. To preach something different is a false gospel.

God Bless.
