what colours grass ?

it is said that he who comes like Socrates, with simple questions such as these, is not truly welcome for he as it were cuts the very ground from beneath our feet - twinc

so as grass withers and fades from green to brown to to a deadly shade of pale or instantly to black in the dark - how about that then - where does the colour go or disappear to - twinc

The chlorophyll breaks down.

when - what triggers the breakdown and/or replacement/replenishment - if we must go on and on or come to a quick conclusion - twinc

What colors chlorophyll? The structure of the molecule. It absorbs red light, and therefore only reflects green light.

nearly there - so the short, sweet, simple answer is ? - this should start a stampede to answer - twinc

The structure of the molecule. It absorbs red light and reflects green light. Short and simple. And factual.

It is said, by WHO?

getting very close - even shorter and simpler than that - what does the molecule absorb and reflect that contains all the colours absorbed or retained - twinc

Light. Barbarian actually answered that though.

in one word no - but you have though - as stated a simple answer but not for most - so what follows and what are the implications e.g. but that He who is the light of the world is also the painter of the fruits and flowers and is not only the light of our world but also the colour in our lives - twinc

Perhaps he doesn't understand the electromagnetic spectrum.

The occurrence of a delayed light emission in photosynthetic organisms was first reported by Strehler and Arnold. This emission was shown to have the same spectrum as that of the fluorescence of chlorophyll in vivo, but a much greater lifetime. It therefore reflects the restoration of singlet excited states in chlorophyll at the expense of metastable energy.

Everything is simple, if you don't understand it.
