Lamb of God, who taketh away the sins of the world, (spare us, O Lord.)
Lamb of God, who taketh away the sins of the world, (graciously hear us, O Lord.)
Lamb of God, who taketh away the sins of the world, (have mercy on us.)
Thou hast redeemed us, O Lord, in Thy Blood. (And made us, for our God, a kingdom.)
Let us pray.
Almighty and eternal God, Thou hast appointed Thine only-begotten Son the Redeemer of the world and willed to be appeased by His Blood. Grant, we beg of Thee, that we may worthily adore this price of our salvation and through its power be safeguarded from the evils of the present life so that we may rejoice in its fruits forever in heaven. Through the same Christ our Lord. (Amen.)

Hey All,
Why does the Catholic Church have to be told to give thanks for the salvation we received?
Don't you guys do that on your own?
And why the grand prayer?
I try to thank God every day for the life He has given me.
It is usually the first thing I pray about.

Let me ask you this, if you pray that prayer the same way all the time, does it ever become vain repetition?
How do you protect against that?

Keep walking everybody.
May God bless,
Taz

The holy church has a duty to care for our souls! Heb 13:7-17

Vain repetition is repeating yourself in the context of a single prayer, repeated one prayer many times over is not vain repetition!

Christ prayed three times in the garden “let this cup pass from me, but not as i will but thy will be done!

Were all the times identical clones, or was there significant variation?
Hint: use more objective NASB not "douay reims".

Hey All,
Jesus did pray three times Mr. Adams.
It was literally life and death for Him.
That is not the same circumstances as a Catholic Christian praying ten Lord's Prayers in quick succession.
You know that as well as I do.

How do you pray the same prayer over and over again, and not begin to take it for granted?
Then it just becomes a show when you are in the presence of others, doesn't it?

Keep walking everybody.
May God bless,
Taz
