So maybe some of you remember me?

Greetings!

I came in here almost a year ago asking questions about God and his existence. If my memory serves me correctly, I kind of just disappeared from the scene without giving any feedback as to what I believe or where I went.

The current news is that I'm basically an agnostic practicing satanism. Unfortunately, I can say that through all my life pursuing religion and now the occult - I've seen absolutely nothing to sway me to believe they are anything more than binding ideas people choose to live by.

I find that my life is a lot easier to live and I'm ultimately much happier. I'm enlisted in the U.S. Infantry and trying to make the best of it.

I don't even know if this is the right forum - but to anyone who cares it's out there.

Very Dangerous grounds man, satanist and in the infantry..., I don't think i would trust Satan with my back in war.

Another though.... you question the existence in God but believe in Satan? isn't that contradictory in a sense.

Ohhh, LostKid,

I'm so sorry to hear this.

This is a sad testimony to all of the Christians who have interacted with you in the past. We have failed in our efforts to properly share the truth with you.

Please forgive us!

If I can only make one request of you, it would be to read one book.

It is titled "Evidence that Demands a Verdict," by Josh MacDowell.

You are in my prayers!

In Christ,

Pogo

Read it. It's an interesting conversational piece, but I am not really convinced.

And it isn't contradictory at all! I said I was agnostic - not an atheist. I'm open to whatever God TRULY reveals himself to me - if one even does at all. I'm personally very skeptical of ANY of it ever working.

Besides, I'd feel much more comfortable with a God who I could know is true watching my back than a God who doesn't show me much of anything.

I think what Lostkid may have meant was that he practices Satanism but does not believe in it or any other religious or occult ideas while still remaining open to the possibility that one may be true.

I have no idea as to what Satanists actually believe. I've heard conflicting statements from Satanists, some say they worship Satan (as the name suggests) others say it has nothing to do with the actual devil but is used as a metaphor to symbolise their rebellion against what 'God' stands for.

Hi Lostkid, :) I hope I understood your post correctly, Could you shed some light on what Satanists believe?

Surely - and thank you for your respect.

From my experience there are several sects of Satanism but the subject can be divided into two main groups. One is "LaVeyian" Satanism and the other is "traditional" Satanism.

LaVeyian Satanism was started fairly recently and, as the earlier poster basically mentioned, is not a theistic church. They do not believe in God most people know him, nor Satan. The Satanic Bible outlines the beliefs very solidly, and mindset is a pretty interesting one at that. They worship the IMAGE of Satan - that is, one who takes pride in his own ability and exalts himself. They believe that each person is basically their own God and believe on reveling in things denounced by popular religions such as Christianity (seeing as, so often, these "sins" are very natural and sometimes healthy for human beings).

They're a very ritualistic and liturgical church - albeit a relatively small one. They receive their name from its founder, Anton Szandor LaVey - an intellectual carnival organist who founded this church.

The second sect of Satanism is traditional Satanism. Generally, most traditional Satanists do not like LaVeyian teachings because they blaspheme The Dark Lord as they understand him. They are the older form Devil Worship and vary from sect to sect. Some of the more popular names I've heard on the topic include Joy Of Satan and Order of Nine Angels.

Basically, they renounce the teachings "God" as presented in established religions such as Islam or Christianity and believe Satan truly merits their respect and worship.

Personally, I suppose I'm currently following both. I will be making prayers to a demon tonight in hopes of some sort of response - yet I am quite doubtful.

Go for it. Apparently your prayers along with every other christian I ever knew didn't do anything.

Thanks LostKid for your explanation of Satanism. Obviously as a Christian I pray and hope you find Christ but I genuinely wish you peace regardless of your beliefs. If you do not mind, I would love it you keep us posted with how things go.

You sound like someone I once knew now what was his name... Ah yes it was me. I spent most of my life as a Satanist. If you want to talk about how I got from satanist to born-again-christian send me a PM. I've been on this forum for a while, and trust me we are better off discussing this just the two of us. I will not "force" Jesus on you, but I will speak the truth. Let me know if you are interested in talking.

Yes I will keep you updated on what happens.

And yes I would love to talk with you! I can't find out exactly how to send you a private message just yet (I haven't used this thing in like a year) but I'd be very interested in what you have to say!

I remember you, LK. We had a little exchange over contradictions int he bible, and I still have our conversation saved in my files. Then I told you I was a deist bordering agnosticism. I am now an atheist, and I see you're agnostic.

'Your transformation is not complete, but it is now irreversable' ;-)

Kind regards,
Eric

Thanks for your touching of my life :-p .

Nice to see you're an atheist, too. Apparently I'm on my way there. I don't think I can shake my ties to Christianity just yet though - possibly because i'm indoctrinated, or maybe because there's something really there.

I just went out and did some prayer type stuff out in the desert, but got kind of freaked out (I was alone) and split. I'll go back to that spot later maybe.

Cheers!

Yep I remember you. Although I don't like the path you've chosen, I respect your choice and God will always be here if you decide to come back.

You both might be surprised at the truth of GOD I know I was. Listen I live in Utah, and here if you're not Mormon you are treated as less than human. Growing up the Mormon religion was all around me, and all I knew of GOD. I have learned that outside of Utah most "Christians" act a lot like the Mormons here, judgemental, arrogant, self-richeous, I'm-better-than-you types. Here's the deal, I'm not your average Christian, I have been through hell and lived to tell about it. I was a satanist (yes a real satanist not a "devil worshiper" I do know the difference) I found Jesus, the real Jesus not the one that sells T-shirts. So I welcome a conversation with both of you, please hit me up we can talk GOD or anything in general, you might find we have common interests and we can start there. I really do want to talk with you both.

PEACE~MISFIT

There are many people who have faith and lose it, only to find it again later on in life and vice-versa. Who knows....maybe you will find your faith again! Okay, that would probably have you in a fit of laughter but you never know, any thing is possible ;-)

No, no, no. There won't be any "if you don't accept Christ you will go to hell for eternity" here. The idea that our loving Father can send us to hell for eternity is a man-made fabrication that is sheer blasphemy. Plus, scare tactics will never make someone love their God, only fear them - they'll only accept Him because they don't want to go to hell. So lets have none of this here.

Focus on showing people that God loves them, not that he's gonna send you to hell if you don't accept him.
