a watchman is on guard /watch for danger i will show you one last time galatians 6:1 Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. cain asked am i my brothers keeper --yes to some degree we are warn of impending danger . does a watchman pray in tongues? some might i see no benefit in praying in tongues . just like being slain ( hmm) in the spirit is nothing more than a fleshly hyped up event ..that has no scripture backing NONE that uses the words slain in the spirit. its a man made term/event .what do you think preachers/pastors do from the pulpit? they sound the trumpet warning from the word of God. same as a sunday school teacher/ the same as any Christian should do out of Love. one last concept the shepherd watches over his Flock. Christ is the great shepherd we are the under shepherds your taking a simple concept and taking it out in left field .

A watchman is a soldier who is standing guard to awake the army in case of an attack by the enemy.
It supposes there is an army, there is a commander, there are people willing to listen and react.

A prophet is called to tell those under Gods judgement to repent and respond or face judgement.
A prophet is a messenger or mouth piece of the living God to people to warn them.

Guess which role is written about by Paul and which is ignored?
And the people of God are loyal to the Lord and listen to Him. A teacher or prophet, those who are spiritual are to speak Gods word to encourage and help the elect to follow and grow in Him.

I would suggest the idea of watchmen, is spoken by loners who little contact with the church or social interaction and see themselves as voices crying in the desert, heroically doing a service for others. This is the world of fantasy and self delusion not biblical ministry or truth. God bless you
