Bible Study Something That Has Always Bothered Me

II Kings 6:29 KJV
So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son.

While i agree children were eventually eaten, I do not think at the time of Moses that they had gone that far. Sin is progressive and later they would get there.

I do know eventually the sins of Israel exceeded the sins of the Gentiles.

It looks like i am the details police at this point, but I do not want it to be that way. We all can get things a bit mixed up.

I didn't mean that the people were eating the babies,.. I meant that the crocodiles were because that's what the pharaoh ordered.

Amazing isn't it? Have you read much New Exodus Theology? It's been years for me, but there does seem to be many quirky similarites.
Judges 2:15 KJV
Whithersoever they went out, the hand of the LORD was against them for evil, as the LORD had said, and as the LORD had sworn unto them: and they were greatly distressed.
16 Nevertheless the LORD raised up judges, which delivered them out of the hand of those that spoiled them.
17 And yet they would not hearken unto their judges, but they went a whoring after other gods, and bowed themselves unto them: they turned quickly out of the way which their fathers walked in, obeying the commandments of the LORD; but they did not so.
18 And when the LORD raised them up judges, then the LORD was with the judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge: for it repented the LORD because of their groanings by reason of them that oppressed them and vexed them.

God working behind the scenes was their deliverance. Today Jesus interceeding at the right hand of father and in us is our permanent one time deliverance. Not to say issues are not to be dealt with.

Sorry

Exodus 1:22 KJV
And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive.

Sorry I just never had a vision of death in the river. The saving of Moses blotted that thought out.

Much as today I think more on deliverance.

Yeah, I wasn't completely a hundred percent sure about that one but crocodiles were in the Nile and they showed that happening in the movie. But then again, they could have been taking poetic license.

the movies are not always Biblical
Unless that is where you have been taught to go to find Bible stories......... then, you are certain they are Biblical. (Which is really sad..... misleading and distorting undeveloped minds like that.)

They're based on biblical stories, which is a good thing. I'd rather my grandkids watch that than some of the other cartoons they have out there.
at some point you tell the gkids the truth . i happen to disagree with cartoon for adults that are not Biblical correct or even a Hollywood show

I'm actually watching it right now on Netflix lol I think it's a really good movie. It's one of my favorites actually.

Philippians 1:18 kjv
What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

If the movie showed a clock with the croc, then you can be sure it's poetic license.

Then again an infant thrown into a river might not tend to survive too well, even if not eaten by crocodiles.

Very true, but just so you know the croc with a clock was Peter Pan.
