Strengthening families through biblical principles.
Focus on the Family addresses the use of biblical principles in parenting and marriage to strengthen the family.

Yeah.
I know that I tend to like music with lyrics that I can relate to. As a Christian, songs about living as a Christian are very relate-able. Plus sometimes God uses them to encourage you.
I'll replace Buried Beneath with Red's Forever.More Than Useless, by Relient K--Kinda about my insecurities. Sometimes I think I'm just some hopeless person that can't do anything right; but I am reminded that that's not how God sees me.
Buried Beneath, by Red--I'd say this song could describe a part of my past where I had kinda turned my back on God getting unhealthily obsessed with something else, and ended up depressed. It's in the past and I'm definitely over it now, but it's something that I won't be forgetting.
Somewhere in the Middle, by Casting Crowns--"the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."~Matthews 26:41 b KJV
Changed one of mine yet again. lol This time I just edited the post.
Being limited to only three songs is kinda hard.
Blessings by Laura Story: Because despite all my trials (just one of them is my chronic illness) the Lord uses them for His glory and even though I can't always see it they are a blessing!
Dreams Don't Turn To Dust by Owl City: Because I am a dreamer and try to appreciate all the simple moments.
Embers by Owl City: Because it describes how hard life can be but "I'm fanning the flames to climb so high 'Cause there's no other way we can stay alive" "and when it's all said and done we'll shine like the sun, so don't let the fire die"
Rachel: The Laura Story song sounds good; is it a recent one?
Blessings.
Changing out yet again. xDI'll replace Buried Beneath with Red's Forever.
Also replacing Somewhere in the Middle with Best is Yet to Come, by Red.
So:
Forever, by Red--Kinda sums up parts of my relationship with God.
More Than Useless, by Relient K--Already explained.
Best Is Yet to Come, by Red--"And after all that we've been through, and after all we left in pieces, I still believe our lives have just begun; because now the past can be outrun, and I know You are the reason, I still believe the best is yet to come". Sometimes the only reason I feel like there's hope in this life is because God is ultimately in control.
Changing out yet again. xD
Forever, by Red
More Than Useless, by Relient K
Meteor Shower, by Owl City
Okay, just--happened to be listening to Meteor Shower and got reminded how much I love this song. "I am not my own, for I have been made new; please don't let me go; I desperately need You"--just, perfect. Basically, I belong to God and need His guidance.
I'll replace Buried Beneath with Red's Forever.
.
It is.questdriven:
So is Buried Beneath one of Red's tracks, too?
Blessings.
It is.
What did you think of it?questdriven:
Oh okay thanks. I could have looked it up before. I listened to it just now, anyway.
I think you said a while back that your mom bought you some Christian hard rock CD or CDs; by Red, maybe? (or perhaps I'm thinking of something else.)
Blessings.
What did you think of it?
To me Buried Beneath describes a part of my life that is now in my past, but was pretty major, and the song also describes the nature of the problem. But I thought Forever fit better, as it included that and other things and how God was there to bring me back.
My mom got me a Skillet CD by request as a birthday present. Has most of my favorite songs by them on it.
(Not completely, no. But enough that she thinks I'm treading on dangerous territory. Don't want to bring that into this thread, though. What music I listen to is probably the least of her concerns.)questdriven:
I could certainly see how the lyrics could be interpreted as being the sinner's aspiration, in his or her need, towards God. They were not as overtly Christian as some of Red's lyrics, though. At least, this is how it seemed to me.
Oh it was Skillet. Some of the CD would have been quite hard rock, right? so your mom can't be to averse to you liking it.
(Implicitly, she might not quite agree with the preacher guy at your church, then.)
Blessings.
