You might be surprised :)

nick you do realize that in a life or death situation the guy having the intent to kill you may be on so much drugs that even mma wont work . some cops shoot a suspect and they still die as the suspect will continue to shoot as they are on cocaine and shoot back or function long enough that they will pump all thier blood out .

if it wasnt overly groutesgue for some here i would find those vids and post them

funny i had this conversation with a fellow believer and cop and bjj training partner.

Yes, I do realise that.

ok, then i was wondering that about your comment on a law that allows civilians to defend themselves with lethat force, in certain situations.
you seemed to disagree.

you said not necessarily to kill.

while some person will stop in the first shot can be said that many wont, and that until the person actually ceases grip of the gun, he or she may still be a threat.
nick that first shot may miss and it's best to unload the whole clip. of course i have some training with the firearm assigned to me and related training to know when to shoot and where. but i would love all the happy. fun training i can get. when craps hits the fan and the pucker factor is so high that you can smell it, your ability to shoot accurate drops, and the more training you get the better.

my friend whom i mentioned is a cop with the city i work for here in florida, he never goes anywhere withour his piece. even to church he has it on him, and his badge, why? because the fact that he has put men in jail and some may want to "make things right" and should the situation arise where a rape, or violent crime occurs he wants to be effective when off duty.

Of course more than one shot may be required. All I'm saying is that try your best not to kill the person unless it's absolutely necessary.

uh, as an military police officer, we shoot to kill or till the perp cease hostile actions.
he drops the weapon and obeys the command to wit i did say that. but he gettin at least three in the chest from me. for the first will be off and the other two will get right the mark where i am aiming center mass( the heart and lungs).

always, shoot to kill, if he stops and surrenders then cease fire. and then call the cops. let them get him aid and handle the legal issues( you will be questioned and held till it can be proven that you had the right to shot back)

What? So shoot to kill and just in case your three shots in the chest missed him, luckily for him since he surrendered.
Sorry, I would give them a chance to live first. I know you've got a military background and it works differently there, but we're talking about general self defense here, i.e. someone comes into your house at night or whatever.

What? So shoot to kill and just in case your three shots in the chest missed him, luckily for him since he surrendered. that what a cop is trained to do. and i have been trained in both, my cop friend says the same thing. that is what he said and the cop guardsmen taught me. if they come into my house to steal then they have one warning , i yell have a gun while its drawn and pointed, get on the ground and dont move. if i see movment then i shoot. that is what the laws says i can do. nick this is hard thing for you since have been taught to take a life and put in the situation where it might be needed. even cops kill because they have when they shoot. trust me they rather you surrrender but if you watch those videos you will see that they give every chance to the suspect. but if he points and continues in a threating manner he or she goes down.not one shoot look and see if he still a kicking and then shoots, no shoots and as he reacquiring target notices the perp falling to the ground and ceases to shoot then aprehends him.

I understand what you're saying Jason, in your last post. But the problem I'm finding is that in an earlier post you said "always shoot to kill". It seems you might have contradicted yourself.

once you fire yes, that is point he is trying to kill you , that means when you aim, you aim for vital organs, once the threat is stopped, he is dead or ceases to be a threat then only then do you holster the weapon, and beleive me if you can escape by all means do so, lets not play hero.

that is for the cop he does the hero thing, he is the one will follow the suspect if the suspect flees and we arent if we draw and he drops the weapon.

and of course get the law and ambulance coming.

John the quiz is too long - :biggrin

I will simply say that I am a peaceful person, and love life and the same for others.

I was born with a gun in my hands. I lived in the country all of my life, which includes fishing and hunting just about anything the flys, crawls, or runs or hops. I also ate them all.

I can take apart my rifles while blind folded. I am an expert in firearms. It also was my specialty while in the Army. Small arms specialists, and supply division. I can shoot a fly off of the rack of a deer at 100 yards while a deer is feeding, and the deer will not flinch.

I love my winchester 30 - 30 lever action, open sites, which holds seven shots. If need be, I can take out 21 perpetrators with seven shots if the need arises. You must know which parts of the body will only slow down the bullet but continue on. I love some of the sniper rifles that are made today. Such awesome fire power . In the right hands, they can take out a target at over a mile away.

Being more of an outdoorsman, I love the hunt and tactic of hunting the game.

In self defense, its either me or the other guy. I would put my money on myself.

Did I pass your test ? :biggrin

You know my answers already. :biggrin

I've picked up a couple more lately too. :shades
