A bunch of adults got together in the 4th grade for what was supposed to be a productive session into the problems of the gifted program, which should have been rescinded. The most important thing is that they compared the history book for the gifted program v the history book for the average program. There were two facts in the history book for the average program that were correct whereas the textbook for the gifted program had 2 errors. The errors were that it is a nation of men, not of laws. Also, the regular textbook had the real causus beli of the civil war - a tariff. I don't remember the details. I side with the north because the tariff was meant to sprong someone wrongfully imprisoned in the south.

They tried to rescind the gifted program, I tried to 2nd the motion, and after that the Freeman crew showed up and ruined everything.

Gifted programs are great...shouldn't destroy a whole program over a single textbook.

And what is a stingly massacre?
I googled and found nothing but one punk kid who struggled too hard when caught shoplifting 6 bottles of vodka and died.

Excuse me, the right way to express the idea is "the rule of law, not the rule of men". There is something more to me, it is the rule of identity.

There was a fistfight in Singley over what to teach in school, that the United States is based on the rule of law, or based on the rule of men. That's part of it. Also, I just think the way the gifted classes are taught, after having been through them, is targeting the wrong learning style. But I don't have the books to back up my memories.

I can't find a "Singley massacre" either.

A fistfight is not a massacre...its a disturbance of the peace and calling a fistfight a massacre is belittling of what is a massacre and nullifying those who have been executed in such a fashion.

And since this seems to be a matter of politics this thread is closed.
