Strange Dreams?

Hello everyone.

As I am new to the forum I was completely at a loss trying to figure out what the appropriate forum to post this strange question in was. So I had to guess, and since I am 16 and this is a sort of general life questions I thought maybe it would fit here. If this is the wrong forum and you'd like me to post this elsewhere, I'd be happy to.

I have a question, and I did not want to ask anyone I know about it so I've decided the next best thing would be to find a Christian forum and pose it to you all anonymously.

Although I would easily be able to ask others about it (since I was raised in a Christian home and my parents actively go to church), that's not what's preventing me from inquiring without the nice comfy veil of anonymity.

This question is kind of awkward, but there's no point in beating around the bush.

So to get to the point-

Since I was young I've always had dreams about being Satan / the Anti-Christ. They used to scare me quite a bit but I've become used to them by now.

They'd occur much more frequently when I fell asleep at a church camp I used to go to.

Usually in these dreams the time period was around the end of days.

They've become less frequent but I'll still occasionally have them.

I can't really go into specifics with the other content in the dreams because there's been many and they all take place in different places with different people and different things happen- the only constant is.. well.

I tried googling it but the only results pertained to having dreams where demons or Satan appeared, and not being him...

I'm not really sure what to make of it all.

Interesting. There are many instances in the Bible where dreams have meaning, but they don't have to. And if they do it's probably more often to do with our emotional state or state of mind.
See, dreams are basically our brains processing our thoughts while asleep. That's probably why dreams can be as weird and random as they are.

I'm aware of that. They might be influenced by a period of time when I was younger it seemed everyone around me was obsessed with end times. I guess somewhere in my mind I'm concerned even though I'm aware that it's most likely completely irrational.

Hi Ghost. I'm new here too. :wave2

I read somewhere in an article by a psychologist that we are everyone in our dreams. I guess that means since people can't come into our minds at night and interact with us, that it is our thoughts that we are making others in our dreams say, and also how we think they will act as well.
If you are dreaming you are the devil or anyone evil, you shouldn't let it get to you. I mean, the actors who play the devil in all of the Jesus movies aren't really evil. Maybe your subconscious is merely telling you there is some unchecked sin in your life.
Please don't get me wrong, I am not making light of your concern. If I had this dream once it would have disturbed me somewhat the first time I had it. But I would try to shake off any feelings that there was something seriously wrong with me.

I will pray for your dreams to be more pleasant. :) God bless you!

Possibly. I still have dreams about the rapture sometimes, even not fully believing in it anymore. (I no longer really hold any particular end times views.) Those dreams are nothing at all like anything the Bible says, or even what anyone actually teaches about the rapture.

If you believe the dream may have some divine meaning, maybe it would help to see if it directly fits anything in Scripture.
