subjects

What subjects are you all doing at school? And what years of school are you in? What are your interests/hobbies and what subjects do you really just despise?

I'm currently on summer vacation, I'll be a senior in high school when school starts again. I'm taking a lot of acting/drama classes. Improv, Advanced Acting, Speech & Drama. I only have two required classes, English & Government. I'm really looking forward to Painting and French II.

I have to go to summer school during the month of June because I failed one semester of Algebra II. I hate Math, any kind any form.

Well I'm in my 5th year of 6 years of high school, so I'm a senior (yay!). I've only got one required subject and that's English. I'm doing Advanced English, Modern History, Geography, Business Studies, Economics and Information Processes Technology (IPT). So mine differ from yours quite a bit, but you might have noticed that there's no maths on there. I like it that way. I failed maths last year and don't intend on ever doing it again. I feel your sufferings in maths, brother.

*bumps topic*.

Anyone else? Not to mention any names *coughs* cOlTOn b*coughs*AcrOsS TtE uNIveRsE*coughs*

Okay!

I like math, english, social studies. Going into 8th grade. I like doing Christian stuff. Listening to music playing in woods. I despise P.E.

I'm with you on the PE man! I hated it! Luckily seniors don't do it :).

What's social studies? Is it like geography?

Sorry, I've been hard to spot guys. Life's been demanding. Oh, I finished reading Genesis, and I'm almost halfway through Exodus! Woot!

Anyway,

I'm going into 10th grade (sophomore). I'll be taking Advanced Everything. Advanced English, Advanced World Civ (actually, this class is even harder than Advanced World Civ because if I complete it, I get 3 hours college credit), Advanced Geometry, Advanced Biology, Advanced Spanish, and lastly Orchestra.

I'm going to have my plate full this school year. I just hope I'll be able to get on CF when it starts!

Wow! You sound like you'll be busy?

No advanced orchestra? Disappointing! :lol.

I'll be starting the last year of school next year (HSC) and I'll still be on here! :).

I'm only in 8th grade, but, I'll give you the just of it:

I despise math. I am way more into literature, history, science, etc.
I enjoy Philosophy, Apologetics, Mythology, and Biblical History, among other things.

Haha sorry Nick buddy, but I like math.. Not saying its fun, because no part of school is lol, but it's way easy for me so its by far the best required course. Like Acrosstheuniverse, I am i in 10th grade as well, and am included in advanced math, science, english, and history. I hate doing so many advanced things... They really suck lol. Anyways, my favorite classes have to be art; in any way. My favorite kind of art is drawing though.

Btw, while we are talking about favorite subjects and parts of school, what do you least like abou school? For me it has to be waking up early; worst feelin ever haha.

Least favourite thing about school used to be maths but now I do modern history instead - :) so probably the homework is...getting home from school and then having to to more work. :\ :wall

I dispise Science in general... not sure why.
I'm in Grade 9 this year, and I'm taking Maths, Science, Social Studies, English (Those are the core subjects in my school), Woodwork & PE

:bump

Thought it's time we revisited this topic, since there are few more teens on board since it was last discussed.

So, what are the subjects you're currenlty doing at school / university, and where do you hope they will lead you?

I'm studying to be a high school teacher in Modern History and Geography, so my subjects at uni at the moment include psychological education, 'big history', the making of Australia, and an earth science subject.

I am doing well in Biology, the test in every class are difficult for me. When it comes to geometry I struggle, math is harder for me to get if I don't understand 100% I do poorly on test so it's difficult. I'm an AP English student so all is good. US History is okay. (Names are hard and having a harsh teacher is never good) I am in some marketing courses and loving them!

It's interesting that you are enjoying Biology but not math, JMan. Typically the students who like sciences, tend to favor math over english. This just goes to show a college recruiter doesn't know anything.

College recruiter? Hah...yeah anyways, my mother was a English teacher when I lived in a different state, so I grew up not struggling. Science comes naturally to me depending on subject. I really do like math but hate it when I can not figure it out all the time.

I have a dream of becoming a forensic scientist where crime scene evidence is handled and tested (finger prints, bullets, blood) and See science is more important, even though math goes into the same stuff I put more effort into science.
