The most common reason for suicide is clinical depression, which is an illness caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain. Under those circumstances I don't see suicide as any more sinful than dying of any other illness. God knows all our circumstances, and He is wise, just and merciful. Only He is qualified to judge any of us.

Depression is definately not a sin.It is no more sinful than having diabetes.

Right on Granny J, as much as I love the Lord, I suffer from clinical depression so bad that I almost took my own life. I can't describe the torture going on in my mind. Thank the Lord that my son came from Maine and Jesus used him in a big way. I am on meds for it and I'm doing very well now.

Thank you Granny, It's been so long that now I don't pay much attention to it unless sometimes I get up in the morning and that old black cloud won't leave me alone. I have to continually repeat out loud the blessings of the Lord, and eventually in the afternoon it lets up. Thank you for your prayers.

I'm sure that you don't realize how much of a positive effect that you make in the hearts of hurting people like me and others.
