"All things by Him [Jesus] & for Him were made." (Colossians 1:16)

There are many things in nature which God created that share many uncommon with the three persons of God and were made to testify that the Bible is true and for us to praise Him, as all things in nature should lead us to do. (Psalm 148) These things include the Sun, light, wind, water, & trees, which are all said in the Bible to be symbols of God.

Like the Son of God Jesus, the Sun appears to:
-descend from heaven to Earth
-disappear in a bloody death
-be "resurrected"
-ascend into heaven
-come on the clouds of Heaven
-cannot be escaped anywhere on Earth, as is said of God in Psalm 139
-gives life, as it says of Jesus "in Him was life & the life was the light of men" (John 1:4)
-brings the dead trees back to life, as Jesus says that when He comes all the dead will return to life (John 5:28); humans are compared to trees often in the Bible (ex. "every bad tree will be chopped down and thrown into the fire": Matt. 12)
-have existed before man existed, as it says of Jesus "in the beginning was the Word" (John 1:1)
-never die

Thus, the Sun is a powerful witness to people all over the world that everything said about Jesus in the Bible is true.

Biblical Evidence that the Sun is a symbol of the Son of God
1) In Psalm 84:11, it says that “the LORD God is a sun and shield.â€Â  This is obviously metaphorical, for the Psalmist is very aware that God is not a body as the Sun is.  The word “LORD†is a title for the Son of God as well as for the Father.  However, all the following references connect the Sun with the God the Son, not God the Father.
2) The Son of God calls himself the “light of the world†(John 8:12), and the Sun is the most prominent light of the world that we can see with our eyes.
3) in Malachi 4:2, the last chapter of the Old Testament immediately followed by Jesus' genealogy, it is said "the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings"; this is referring to Jesus the Son of God
4) Jesus’ face is said to shine “as the noon-day Sun†both during the Transfiguration (Matt. 17:2) and in Rev. 1:16.  In the New Jerusalem, there is said to be no need for the Sun because of the light from God and His Son. (Rev. 21:23)
5) As the SON of God was “absent†from sight for THREE days after His body died, so was
Jesus’s death accompanied by a THREE-hour absence of the SUN (Matt. 27:45); the SUN absent for THREE days to punish the Egyptians for sinning (Exodus 10:22-23); and the SUN’s light invisible to Paul for THREE days after the Son strikes Paul from Heaven with a blinding light. (Acts 9:3-5,9)

What is your opinion on this and in general about how nature testifies about God?

"He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he that is disobedient to the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." (John 3:36) "Hell, where the worm [that which feeds on a dead body] dieth not & the fire is not quenched." (Mark 9:48)

“The heavens declare the glory of GOD…In them he has set a TABERNACLE for the SUN, which is as a BRIDEGROOM coming out of his chamber, and rejoices as a STRONG MAN to run a race. His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and THERE IS NOTHING HID FROM THE HEAT THEREOF.†(Psalm 19:1,4-6)

“The heavens declare the glory of God†in part because the Sun is a symbol of God the Son. God the Son “TABERNACLED among us†(John 1:14), and the tabernacle is a type of Him. The Messiah is called a BRIDEGROOM in Isaiah 61:1-2,8,10 & 62:5; and Jesus compares Himself to a BRIDEGROOM in several of his parables, including the parable of the ten virgins and the parable of the wedding feast. (Matt. 22:2, Matt. 25:1) The Messiah-King, Jesus, is called a “STRONG MANâ€Â/â€ÂHERO†(same Hebrew word as in Psalm 19) in Psalm 45:3. The last sentence of the quotation is a reference to the fact that Jesus can see all over the world. For instance, He “saw†Nathanael was sitting under a fig tree although Nathanael was not
within the range of His eyesight. This seeing of course provokes Nathanael to say: “Rabbi, you are the Son of God, you are the King of Israel!†(John 1:48-49) This passage is clearly inspired by God, for what human mind would think on his own to compare the Sun to a bridegroom and a hero?!

The Sun: one of nature's/history's many types of the Antichr

More precisely, the Sun is a type of the Antichrist just like the "sun gods" below. It too is "born" on Dec. 25 for that is when the daylight hours begin to lengthen, although the true Son of God in all likelihood was not born on Dec. 25.

The Egyptian sun-god Amen-Ra is one of the many types of the Antichrist who have appeared throughout world-history & who imitate Christ in many uncommon ways just as the Antichrist will:

"These things saith the Amen [Jesus is speaking here since the end of Revelation 1], the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God..." (Revelation 3:14)

As the Devil says "I will be like the Most High" (Isaiah 14:14), so have his fellow "world-rulers of darkness" (Eph. 6:12) been imitating the three persons of God including Jesus throughout all history, in part by appearing as non-Christian gods all over the world: "They sacrificed not to God, but to DEVILS; to GODS they knew not." (Deut. 32:17, 1 Cor. 10:19)

The whole of nature, the Bible & His-story is the story of Jesus Christ and the Antichrist, even the parts of the Bible written hundreds of years before Jesus' virgin birth. This is manifest by the fact that there are so many things & people which each resemble (1) the Antichrist "Beast" (the incarnation of Satan the "Beast" of Rev. 12) who will imitate Christ in many uncommon ways, and (2) the three persons of God including Christ, in so many uncommon ways that some atheists falsely concluded that Jesus' life was a fiction based on the life of Julius Caesar, or Buddha, or some other pagan god, especially due to the book The DaVinci Code, so do not be deceived into thinking that these resemblances are merely coincidental.

I call these people "types of Christ" & "types of the Antichrist" ("TYPE": a thing or person that represents perfectly or in the best way a class or category; model; a genus or species that most nearly exemplifies the essential characteristics of a higher group)," and I have been researching and writing about them for months.

The Antichrist will resemble Christ in many uncommon ways: for instance, the Antichrist will be the king of all kings [except God] (Rev. 17:13) (as many of the types of the Antichrist such as Buddha, Nietzsche, & Elvis "the King" are kings over people's behavior), will appear to return from the dead (Rev. 13:3), WILL BE WORSHIPPED WORLDWIDE (Rev. 13:4), and will "minister" for 3 1/2 years (Rev. 13:5, compare Luke 4:25 where Jesus compares his ministry to Elijah's) All these types resemble the Antichrist & God in many uncommon ways. Even the meanings of their names echo Satan & Christ in uncommon ways, for God "who works ALL things according to the counsel of His will" (Eph. 1:11) secretely is responsible for apparently every name that has ever been assigned to a person, as I know from having well-considered the meanings of the names of well over a hundred people.

A. in Bible:
-types of Christ: Noah the one means of being saved, Isaac, Joseph the savior of the world, Moses, Aaron, the Passover Lamb the means of salvation, the elements of the Exodus Tabernacle, the serpent raised on a standard in Numbers 21, Joshua (has the same name in Jesus in Hebrew) who is the means by which God's people enter the Promised Land…
-types of Antichrist: Nimrod ("rebellion") the King of Babylon (his "whore [& "queen"] of Babylon": Semiramis), King Saul ("death") the 1st King of Israel, Goliath, Cain ("spear"), King Balak ("he who lays waste, destroys"), King Absalom ("Father of Peace") the son of David, King Sennacherib ["bramble of destruction"] (2 Kings 1, King Nebuchadnezzar [in the Babylonian orthography Nabu-kudur-uzur, which means "Nebo (a Babylonian god i.e. a demon), protect the crown!"; or "tears & groans of judgement"] (Daniel 1-4), Haman ["noise, tumult"] (Esther), King Anti-ochus ("Against the Strong One") Theos Epiphanes ("God Manifest") (Daniel 11:21-35) King Solomon ("peace"- as Jesus is the "Prince of Peace") the son of David who turned away from God in the end of his reign & the wisest person ever other than Jesus & who has 666 shekels of gold coming to him every year.

B. outside Bible: types of the Antichrist:
-the omniscient undying prayer-answering Santa Claus a.k.a. Satan Claws a.k.a. Kriss Kringle from "Christkindl" "the little Christ child" a.k.a. St. Nick related to "Old Nick" a name for Satan (I'm not crazy; Satan "transforms himself into an angel of light" & "deceiveth the whole world"; Santa resembles him & God in many uncommon ways, as many people have noticed on the Internet)
-the popes
-gods (ex. "virgin-born" Buddha, Crishna the chief Hindu god, Confucius, Hercules "born on Dec. 25", many SUN GODS whose birthday was celebrated on Dec. 25th such as the Greek gods Attis & Dionysus, the Persian Mithra, the Egyptian Horus, etc.)
-political leaders (ex. "virgin-born" Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, Genghis Khan ["Lord of the Universe," related to "Cain"], Napoleon, Adolf ("wolf") Hitler, Josef Stalin ("Man of Steel," like Superman & Shaquille O'Neal), Mao Zedong)
-and many more

Thus, the Sun is actually a type of the Antichrist just like the "sun gods" above.

Quote from godislove85:
"All things by Him [Jesus] & for Him were made." (Colossians 1:16)

-have existed before man existed, as it says of Jesus "in the beginning was the Word" (John 1:1)
-never die"

MY COMMENTS: Yes, what an awe inspiring verse Col. 1:16 is.

As for different things in nature being metaphors for "Jesus", I would interpret them somewhat differently.
I see the sun rising from earth first, then descending to the earth. Not starting in heaven.

Is a "bloody death" the appearance of deep red when the sun sets? What do you mean?

Indeed, as long as God wills, the sun rises again every morning. Jesus, of course was resurrected only once, to never die, and then ascended into the heavens, once.

Yes, in Acts 1:9ff, we are told, Jesus ascended from the Mount of Olives, and then a cloud hid him from sight. Then two men in white (angels) told Jesus' disciples He would come back in like manner.
Reference Matt. 24:30:
" And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory." NIV.

I don't see that the sun in some clouds could be a figure for Jesus coming in the clouds of heaven.

Here are some scriptures that are enlightening and a blessing to me:

Psa 72:17 His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and [men] shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.

Psa 84:11 For the LORD God [is] a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good [thing] will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

Mal 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

Mat 17:2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. NOTE: Certainly Jesus glory in his face will be bright as the sun.

Mat 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be. Note: Here is an account where God will darken the sun, and that certainly cannot be considered as a metaphor for Christ Jesus.

In Psalm 19:6ff, the Psalmist is comparing the sun with its heat going forth on all, to the law of the Lord being perfect, reviving the soul. And yes, Psalm 139, the Psalmist declares that we cannot go anywhere that God isn't.

True, our Sun is the source of our life, here on the earth, and thus can be likened unto God through Christ our Lord. Interesting verse, "In him was life and the life was the light of men" (John 1:4); and then 1:9 says, "The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world." NOTE: it would seem that every human being has some "light", some "awareness" of the truth.

I'm not sure what you mean by the sun "bringing dead trees back to life." If trees are dead, they are dead.
Yes, man is likened to a tree many places in the Bible.
Yes, John in his metaphor in Matt. 3:10 says, "The axe is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire."
I don't find anything like this in Matthew 12.

John 5:28,29 tells us, "Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation." KJV.

NOTE: I do not interpret this passage to mean that the resurrection of the good and the evil takes place at the same time at Jesus coming as Messiah.

All for now.
