Hi everyone,
I'd like to surprise my husband in some small way. I need something that I can do for him that is relatively inexpensive but something that he will appreciate. He is 21, but is really a home body.

Well, you could make all of his favorites with a special candlelight dinner...but that seems more like a girl thing. Hmmm. I think it depends on what he likes. Like, movie night with only guy movies and pizza, or chicken wings or something guyish. Or, a sports day with Bar-b-que, and you actually watching (quietly). LOL! Stuff that is completely for him, with no expectations. My children sometimes make me coupon books for hugs and kisses, and chores. As a wife, you could get creative.

If it were my husband, dinner would be three different types of steak followed by three hours of quiet study time. :-? Sometimes he likes coffee in the evening with a rented documentary.

If it's a date night thing, then it should be okay to do things that both of you like. Sorry, I lack real creativity.

The Lord bless you.

Hi Heatherentz,

I'm not sure what your considering inexpensive, but... It's been known to happen at my home where I've come home Friday and as soon as I get home, bags are packed and my wife hops in the drivers seat and off to an unknown B&B we go for a romantic getaway :D

BTW, most B&B's you can get to leave a bottle of your favorite wine (on ice) and even a small bowl of strawberries in your room upon arrival

Oh, I was coming in to post another idea and Jeff sorta took it! Jeff!

I am doing this one, and I don't know why I didn't think to mention it. Each time I get money, I tuck some away in an old mason jar hidden away. You can use more money this way, if you do a long term plan. Anyway, there is a place near us called, Eureka Springs Arkansas, and they have a Passion play of Christ, some inns, and Christian museums, etc. It shouldn't cost much since it is so close, and they always have packages for two nights or something...with tickets. Anyway, you could do this with some local attraction near your home...even if it is a fishing trip or something truly guyish.

The Lord bless you.

Thanks for the ideas! My husband is getting ready to start school (he wants to be a pastor). We are leaving the first Monday in Aug. for a 3 day beach get-away. His mom owns a camper at Rehoboth Beach, DE. It's a nice 3 hour drive and I'd like to do something small for him while we're away, or have him surprised when we get back. He's been so good to me lately, and I just want to show him how much I appreciate the things he does for me.

Heather.

Heather, you said he is going to be going to school to be a pastor, have you considered...if he doesn't have one already, one of those nice leather bound bibles with the name put on them? The leather bound stay together much longer when used often, and the name is not only personal (along with a loving inscription from you on the inside cover), but it is practical when there are Bibles floating around. Just another thought.

I didn't really think about that, although I really love the idea. It's something that won't soon be forgotten, while some small action may. Thanks for the idea! Any other ideas from anyone are also helpful...
