Growth Surrendering to Gods Will

Will is to submit to something that we feel is good and right for us to do even if we do not understand it at the time for the betterment of our life and in this case our eternal life. When we were a child we learned to walk by our parents holding our hand and guiding our steps so we would not fall. We kept trying to walk in spite of falling from time to time until we were walking on our own. This same submission is like our relationship with Christ that even when we stumble and fall he is always there to pick us up and start all over again.

Luke 14:26, 33 If any man come unto me and hate not (hate not means putting your family first before God) his father, mother, wife, children, brethren and sister yes and his own life also he cannot be my disciple. Vs. 33 so likewise whosoever he be of you that forsakes not all that he hath he cannot be my disciple.

Mark 14:36 And he said, Abba Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.

There was a time in my life that I wanted to be a Pastor and even looked into schooling for this. I knew I wanted to be a servant of God and have my own Church, but in all reality it was something that I wanted, but not what God wanted for me. If I had pursued this adventure, looking back on it now, I do not feel that there would have been very much success out of this as I was stepping out of Gods will for what he did have for me in his timing. Like Jesus in Mark 14:36 who did not want to have to go through what he did for his love for us, even he had to be in Gods perfect will in order to be used effectively by God for his purpose for all mankind.

Matthew 16:24, 25 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me let him deny himself and Take up his cross and follow me. Vs. 25 for whosoever will save his life shall lose it and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

Gods’ ways are not our ways and his thoughts are not our thoughts. The carnal mind can not imagine that of the Spirit of God. God has instructed us to walk worthy of his word so we can bring honor and glory to his name.

The works of the Lord are not just teaching his word behind a pulpit, Matthew 25:35-40, the works of the Lord also include feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, visiting the sick and not turning our backs on those that are in prison. The works of the Lord is the witness of God shared with people that do not know him and this is what it is to surrender to the will of God.

Only disciples of Jesus Christ are able to surrender and totally depend on Christ and the cross. Christians must be transformed to followers (disciples) by renewing the mind daily with the word of God and filled with the Holy Spirit. Disciples see the power of Lord Jesus Christ. It is not a suggestion or a option to be a disciple, but a command by our Lord Jesus Christ. Our kingdom is not of this world. When a Christian's will is not 100% surrendered, the kingdoms are in conflict. It becomes the Kingdom of God vs. The World. In other words you can make the Cross of Christ void in your life where the power of God is.

18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations,[b] baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20 NLT

1 Corinthians 1:18-31 NLT
The Wisdom of God

18 The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God.

19 As the Scriptures say, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and discard the intelligence of the intelligent.”[e]

20 So where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars, and the world’s brilliant debaters? God has made the wisdom of this world look foolish.

21 Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe.

22 It is foolish to the Jews, who ask for signs from heaven. And it is foolish to the Greeks, who seek human wisdom.

23 So when we preach that Christ was crucified, the Jews are offended and the Gentiles say it’s all nonsense.

24 But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles,[f] Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.

25 This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God’s weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength.

26 Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world’s eyes or powerful or wealthy[g] when God called you.

27 Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful.

28 God chose things despised by the world,[h] things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important.

29 As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God.

30 God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin.

31 Therefore, as the Scriptures say, “If you want to boast, boast only about the Lord.”[I]

To know the mind of Christ is to walk in His statures, Colossians Chapter 3
God's timing is so important. Do you still feel called to be a pastor or has desire waned? If it has it probably wasn't what the Lord wanted for you in the first place. If it still hasn't He might still want you to do that but the time isn't right yet. I have had a desire to start a Christian training center for over 17 years now. It is still on my mind. In fact it is stronger now than it has been in awhile. When the time is right, the Lord will bring it to pass.

I was an Evangelist for a while licensed through a Church I use to attend, but has since closed its doors. The license only was needed for me to be able to go into certain prisons and teach the inmates. My calling was not to be a pastor, but a teacher. When I use to do prison ministry some inmates that I knew that truly accepted Christ into their lives needed a place to parole to so they would have an address. My husband and I would let them come live with us until they got on their feet. We were going to open a housing unit for those who paroled and needed a place to stay, but unfortunately that fell through as those who were going to help with this pulled out of it. Now I just teach through the internet as this is where I believe God wants me to be, at least for now anyway.

Your life sounds like mine. We used to do prison ministry, now I do most of my teaching on the internet. I think this is where God wants me for now, but hopefully not forever. I like face-to-face much better.

I'm not much of a public speaker, but would rather have one on one or just a small group.

I did not like to speak in public, but I did business presentations for two years and now I really love to speak in public. Everyone says that I am good at it. I love small groups the best though. That is my favorite way to teach.

I can't open videos as I'm on dial up, can you transcribe the video what it's all about, thank you

I can't open videos either at my mom's because I am using the neighbor's wi-fi and the signal is weak. I would really love to see this video.
