Growth Ten Lessons from Hezekiah

Malachi

Member
Christians can learn many lessons from the confrontation of Sennacherib, king of Assyria, with Hezekiah, king of Judah (2 Kings 18:13 to 19:37; 2 Chronicles 32:1-23; Isaiah 36:1 to 37:38). That God has devoted so many pages of Scripture to this is in itself significant. It means that Christians are to study this and apply the lessons contained therein.

Lesson #1 – The more God repeats Himself, the more important is the teaching that He gives.
Lesson #2 – It is foolish to try and placate your spiritual enemies (2 Kgs 18:13-16).
Lesson #3 – When Satan attacks and blasphemes God and comes against us, we are to remain silent towards him (2 Kgs 18:36).
Lesson #4 – Our immediate response to spiritual attacks should be to enter into the very presence of God (2 Kgs 19:1).
Lesson #5 – Our next response to spiritual attacks should be to approach the prophets and apostles (the Word of God) (2 Kgs 19:2-6).
Lesson #6 – Our third response to spiritual attacks should be to return to the very presence of God (2 Kgs 19:14-19).
Lesson #7 – We should expect God to hear and answer our prayers (2 Kgs 19:20)
Lesson #8 – We should be confident that the battle is not ours but God’s (2 Kgs 19:34).
Lesson #9 – God will use supernatural means to deal with the enemies of our souls (2 Kgs 19:35).
Lesson #10 – God will ultimately destroy Satan and all of his evil spirits in the Lake of Fire (2 Kgs 19:36,37).

When two nations come against themselves as in the case of Israel and Judah in 2Kings God will always reserves a remnant for Himself. As long as we are obedient and remain in Gods will no matter how the enemy tries to attack us and hold us captive God will always remain faithful to us in all His promises and blessings. You can actually cross reference 2Kings with Revelation 13 to see how God saves a remnant to Himself.

Rev 13:10 He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. (read the whole chapter)
