Be careful of people who think they know everything. They are committing the sin of pride, aren’t they?

Wow, for a moment there Elijah I thought you were carrying on a conversation with yourself, until I looked closer at the screen names. :D Shows you how much I know.

Whew! I was about to be worried.

those who think they know everything only annoy those of us who do! :p :lol (just kidding)

The more I learn, the more I realize just how little I really know! :shocked! Those who are conceated enough to think that they know everything are self decieved! For it is impossible to know everything!

have a great day!

Don't know that it's "Pride" - just ignorance, really.

Yes, the older we get, the more we realize how little we know.

Thanks.

Lets do an experment; tell yourself that you know everthing, tell yourself that you are smarter then everyone one else; and as you do so pay attention to the emotion that rises up in your heart! That emotion is pride! you cannot truly believe that you know it all without being proud as well. the two go hand in hand. Yes, there is also an eliment of ignorance involved as well, for people who think they know everything have not been exposed to the vast amount of knowledge that is out there. Or if they have; they think that they know everthing that they need to know about those things and are not open to any new information. Such people are unteachable. For the only true hinderance to learning is the belief that you already know the truth!

Now everyone believes that what they believe is the truth. But that does not mean that this is true. I believe that what I beleive is true, but I also believe that it is possible that everything that I know is wrong! So I do careful investigation into matters before I come to believe something to be true. even then, after I have come to believe that something is true, if someone presents an argument that I have not heard before, and demonstrates that what I currently believe to be true is actually false; then I will jetison what I currently believe and embrace the truth. To do otherwise is to choose to believe a lie instead of the truth. And this is called sef-deception.

I have rambled on long enough!

have a great day

hmmm... did they tell you they know everything or do you think they think they know everything?

If they told you that its pride. If they didn't then this may apply:

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who heeds counsel is wise.

When a person loses their temper simply because you don’t agree with what they say, I consider them a “know-it-all.â€

They could be merely frustrated by the fact that you have the truth and they have been shown up!

Got to be careful that the people whom you consider to be know-it-alls may not be that way. It may be your own pride that causes you to place such a title upon another because they give a message to you that challenge a belief that you hold close to your heart.

Wether a person has an attitude of a know it all or not, the best policy is to share your beliefs with them and back up what you believe with scripture. Their attitude is known by God and through the Holy Spirit God will deal with that person in the right way.

you just described my dad and mom! Pride is the root of this temper tantrum. They cant handle any truth that proves that they are wrong. and worse, they are the type of people who are never happy unless they can control every thing that you say and do. the temper tantrum is a way of punishing you for disagreeing with them. Consequently, I do not have any fellowship with them at all! (we rarely talk to each other.)

I told you all of this to give you an example of how pride and arrogance can seperate people. This is one good reason why God hates pride!

have a good day.
