Here is a study that only a few will be able to follow. But I promise that if you do follow this you will increase your understanding a lot concerning many things in the bible. If you think I am overstating this....check it out and prove me wrong! ;)

In these days of fast food and 2 hour church commitments we have lost the depth and breadth of apostolic doctrine. We have replaced Christ's directions with our own understanding in many ways.

Let's forget about salvation for the moment and look at the kingdom of God.

Here is a much ignored key to understand the 4 types of men! (You would think Jesus Christ would have more weight in doctrinal matters than men! )

Rev:22:10And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.

11He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

12And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
13I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
14Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
15For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
16I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
17And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
18For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
20He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
21The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

OK

There are 4 channels that people go down. So there are really 4 kinds of people and each has a destiny different the the others. There are also 4 directions in the world (NSEW). Jesus says there are 4 kinds of hearts in the parable of the sower! etc...

But mainly people don't realize the truth of this. So we need to put 4D glasses on to see the truth for men! :) (Most people only look in 2D.)

We need to look at those 4 catagories. Let's look at them in reverse.

Holy: saint who walks in Christ's power and does what is impossible for other men! The heart of a saint is growing in love constantly...from 30 fold all the way to 100 fold. Loves God as well as others. LOVES AS CHRIST LOVED!

Righteous: One who seeks to obey the law and do what is right. Loves others but not necessarily God. Limited to what men can do. Giving to the poor, helping others, etc...(Think good Samaritan).... LOVES LIKE A MAN CAN LOVE.

Filthy: Those who commit to the highest degree but cannot stop being carnal. These keep soiling their garments! These are proud (Pharisees) and very religious. They claim great understanding of God but their words show that they are far from Him. These "LOVE GOD" but do not LOVE OTHERS AS THEMSELVES.

The wicked: The unjust are lawless. They love NEITHER GOD NOR OTHERS!

So do you see that with 2 main commandments we get 4 possible combinations????? 2x2=4

Here is a simplification of the 4 combinations.

Holy: Loves both God and others
Righteous: Loves others
Filthy: Loves God but not others
Wicked: Loves neither God nor others

Does anyone want to continue in this study? :)

Interesting, and I'm curious as to see how this is developed. :)

The way that I read it is as more of a contrast though: Unjust vs Righteous, Filthy vs Holy...

The question that immediately comes into my mind, is Christ's definition of "Righteous"...for in our natural state, there is no one righteous (Rom 3:10-23) and that righteousness is only that which is imputed through Christ...

Therefore, even though one may do "good things" and "love others", one can not be righteous except through Christ.

Why then, would the Apostle say: "he who is righteous, let him be righteous still", if not referring contextually to the hope we have in Jesus? That we are righteous through him...in spite of the world and it's system?

Guess I'm missing something here....

You are very astute! :)

You put this together!

The way that I read it is as more of a contrast though: Unjust vs Righteous, Filthy vs Holy...

You are so right! But I will leave this for now to get on with the study in a short while!

The bible says...none are SO righteous can they never sin! So the righteous do sin! They are repentant however, and realize they have sinned. That's what makes them righteous! :)

A righteous man calls it as it is. In the case of man, righteousness does not mean perfection. Righteous is a heart attitude. Think of the Samaritan...was he perfect?

But he did what was right in God's eyes. Remember that even a cup of cold water will not go unrewarded!

We must here contrast man's righteous quality with God's. God's righteousness is far above man's. But righteousness is still righteousness.

Think of strength. I can pick up a man and save him from drowning. But I cannot save the world. The Jewish sages say, that he who saves a life it is the same as if he has saved the world. (this is written on Oscar Schindler's ring given to him from the people he saved)

So to be righteous is to do what is right whether it be God or men! Same idea but different scale!

God's ways are higher than man's as the heavens are above the earth. Compared TO GOD our righteousnesses are as filthy rags!

Our strengths are as nothing to Him. But this does not mean they cannot be used to do what is right.

I hope this makes sense! :chin

Let's continue!

Holiness: This is about glory and honour!

1Pe 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

Without holiness none shall see the Lord!

Righteousness: This is about life and salvation!

Pro 12:28 In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death.

Filthiness: This is about dishonour and being rejected of God. They claim to see, and know, but are just actors. These are the hypocrites. They will bear their shame in the wilderness forever.

Jude 1:10But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves. 11Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
12These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
13Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.

The Wicked and unjust: This is the way of death!

And Again!~

The Holy abide in both in holiness AND righteousness! ALWAYS BOTH!!!

Eph 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Luk 1:75 In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.

Rom. 6:19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

The righteous know nothing or very little of holiness. They see something to be done and do it. They seek to do what is right. These are humble and innocent of evil. They are sinners and know it! The good Samaritan was righteous. So were Zacharias and Elizabeth!

(Most believers in our time confuse this class with the holy) The righteous can include anyone who does what is right in God's eyes, regardless of his religious affiliation.

I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Luke 5:32

Matt. 25:31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.33 And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

(Remember even a cup of cold water will not go unrewarded!)

The filthy pretend they are holy and good but do the works of wickedness. They experience the same grace at times as the holy, but it does not penetrate their stoney hearts! They are lawless in their devotion to God and this they do for themselves! Judas was like this!

Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity

The wicked don't care about anything written above:shame

At the risk of losing some here, I wish to go deeper into the word! Then I will show various verses and parables that ONLY MAKE SENSE once you have your 4D glasses on! :)

Let's look at the sons of Noah! He had three sons! Shem, Yapheth and Ham!

These three sons represent the 3 destinies of men who are NOT destroyed with the jugdment of the world. The 4th destiny, that is of the wicked, is death! There is a very great spiritual meaning here if you can discern it! :)

Gen. 9:8And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying, 9And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;
10And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth.
11And I will establish my covenant with you, neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.
12And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:
13I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
14And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:
15And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.
16And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.
17And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.
18And the sons of Noah, that went forth of the ark, were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth: and Ham is the father of Canaan.
19These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth overspread.
20And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard:
21And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.
22And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.
23And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness.
24And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.
25And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.
26And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.
27God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.

Shem: Hebrew meaning "Name" This represents the saints who have the Lord's name. His Bride! These are the holy ones!

Yapheth: Hebrew meaning "spread out". These are the righteous among the nations. They will dwell in the tents of Shem. This means that the saints will rule over the righteous in the nations!

Ham: Hebrew meaning "warm or hot". These are the cast away into the desert wilderness where they will bear their shame. These are the servants of servants. They are the filthy who always soil their garments! They will walk in their nakedness!

Addullam,
My name is Jennie.
I am new here.
I just wanted to tell you I am enjoying this thread!
I'll be back to see what more you have to say!

Righteous was imputed to us as a gift, yet we are told to pursue righteousness. So if we are pursuing righteousness, we must first pursue God (Holy), seek His Kingdom and His righteousness. Righteousness doesn't make us Holy, but Holy makes us righteous. Or I could be wrong. :)

Good thread! I learnt this truth some time ago and can tell you that it truly freed me up... To love! All these scriptures that didn't fit fell right into place. It was like a burden lifted off my shoulders. The whole modern doctrine of 'saved or not saved' and being justified sinners because of Christ's works is terrible in that people use it to wipe their hands clean and puff themselves up above anyone who doesn't know Christ... Such a wrong, proud attitude!

To anyone reading that isn't sure, I say check it out for yourself!

Blessings to all

Holiness involves putting on His righteousness....his nature, His heart! So REAL holiness has righteousness built in!

The problem is when men experience God's grace, then go off in their own strength thinking they don't need to be righteous anymore! These are holding the truth in UNRIGHTEOUSNESS (if you get my meaning).

"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness. --Romans 1:18

These are the proud once-empowered ones who have experienced SOME of God's power and are mighty proud of that!

I warn many of this terrible tendency. I fell into this error myself many years ago! I know of what I speak!

Yes, I do understand what you are saying. thanks.

The modern doctrine, when one really believes it, gives an attitude that says 'I'm proud to be a Christian!' when in fact the righteous attitude that pleases God rather says 'I'm humbled to be a christian.'

There is no fear of God in this way! And so it is with the filthy!

Rom.11 20Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
21For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee. 22Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

Knowing Christ should make us fear God MORE, not LESS. It raises the bar, and it means we know that truth. To who much is given much is required.

Nobody makes it in purely on the merits of another. The idea that simply knowing Christ saves you is gnostic.

I hope I'm on topic :chin

I'd like to touch on something that mcgyver (resourceful as he is:p) brought up early in this thread. That is the relationaship of the 4 possibilities to one another.

They are paired as such

holiness, filthiness

AND

righteousness, unrighteousness (wickedness)

The first pair are according to the greater commandment to love God with all we have and are. Whether we love God or not here shows up in our garments. Either they are white or else filthy! This is about bringing honour or shame on the Lord.

The second pairing is about life or death. It depends how we have treated others! We are either sheep or goats, faithful or (unfaithful) faithless.

When we put the 4 together it looks like this

1.Holiness (Highest rank/possibility for men)

2.Righteousness (The half-way point)

3.Filthiness (lowest rank among the saved ones)

4.Wickedness

The blue concerns the first resurrection and judgment, the red concerns the general resurrection and great throne judgment over the nations!

Please look deeply into these things! I hope some are able to get this as we will go into the word for examples. I'll give you problems to work out in the 4D way of seeing!

Maran atha! :)

Right, and when we do know God, we see how much more we need Him and as we journey along, we realize we need Him even more.

We must believe in Him, believe what He has said, believe what He said about who we are, and what we are to do and believe in His promises.

When we are baptized in Jesus' name, we are taking on His nature and attributes.

Here is our first test. Explain the following! From Ezekiel 21...

The LORD's Sharpened Sword

1
And the word of the L
ORD came unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, set thy face toward Jerusalem, and drop thy word toward the holy places, and prophesy against the land of Israel,
3 and say to the land of Israel, Thus saith the L
ORD; Behold, I am against thee, and will draw forth my sword out of his sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.
4 Seeing then that
I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of his sheath against all flesh from the south to the north:
5 that all flesh may know that I the L
ORD have drawn forth my sword out of his sheath: it shall not return any more.

What does God have against the righteous here !??Please explain! :)

i didn't realize you were really serious about this! lol it's easier when you're the one giving the answers. :) my attempt:
the righteous were good, but they were not Holy and with the wiping out of the wicked, there was nothing in Israel standing up and being Holy unto the Lord, so He rid the righteous along with the wicked.

Rockie you are a scholar! :clap

That's part of the answer! It's not exactly on the bulleye but it's close! I await some more attempts!!!! :)

Well....it seems they were not really distinguishable from the unrighteous...
They were supposed to glorify God for the surrounding nations to see.
But He didn't have their hearts. They wouldn't give up their idols.
So they didn't show Him to the other nations at all.
They didn't love Him - not really.
It was the same old story - they "made a deal to cheat death."

Great thread Adullum!

I would say briefly that their righteousness was their own, and not the righteousness that came by God's grace which had been poured upon them. They took the blessing that God had given them and became a harlot by prostituting the grace of God for their own gain.

I think Ezekiel 16 explains this better than I, as I'm reminded how history always has a way of repeating itself. :(
