The Absurdity of Losing Salvation

jgredline,

The ONLY TRUE BELIEVER is a dead believer

Of what little you have written so far, this is the only thing that is actually true....Now if you study what Paul taught about justification, you will see that Paul is saying...If your justified, You are sealed by the Holy Spirit and and you will persevere and it is as if you were already dead and with Christ.....

Luther was pretty smart. Make salvation automatic - then do whatever you feel like. Yep. That's the ticket. Is it a wonder that such ideas endure and that so many people are taken in by such false teachings? That mankind really likes the sound of such an easy "religion"? Make salvation legal only and do what you will.

I would like to go on record that I was mistaken to blame Luther for this OSAS corruption of the Gospel. While his idea of faith is based on one's subjective belief in their own salvation and lends well to the subsequent idea that we are seeing on this thread regarding OSAS, Luther was NOT the man behind OSAS.

There, I said it. An apology to Martin Luther. And I continue to quote him in my signature line.

You can say a person is saved all you want. But when a person who accepts Jesus into their hearts subsequently becomes a slave to sin, perhaps alcoholism or pornography, how can you type with a straight face and tell me he is saved? SAVED FROM WHAT???

How ridiculous. A person could believe that only if they take their faith at the abstract level alone. It should be evident from your own experience that people fall away and that people NEED Christ back into their lives. We know that not all of these people WILL accept Him back. As such, OSAS is useless in the real world except for those who desire to sleep better at night while continuing to sin to their hearts content.

This is exactly what I was talking about earlier....You just described a person who ''thought'' he was saved, but as is obvious by 1 john 3 he was not.....

This is a faulty interpretation.....of Of your once saved your always saved, because this person was not saved to begin with.....

This thread is starting to get really ugly and going no place, so for now it is locked.... :robot:
