"I will go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also." John 14:3
We are the Bride of Christ. Several places in the New Testament refers to the church as the Bride of Christ. When we are a bride we choose to forsake all others and commit to our husbands "in health and in sickness, in prosperity and in adversity, share with him to joys and sorrows of life, and exercise patience, kindness and forbearance toward him and live with him in peace...forsaking all others, keeping yourself only unto him as long as you both shall live."
This covenant between and husband and wife only lasts until the death of one of the spouses, but the vow made with Christ lasts beyond death. Our commitment to Christ is forever!! Death does not and cannot part us from Him. Instead of separating us, death ushers us into the presence of our Beloved to be united with Christ forever. What a powerful blessing and and a wonderful prospect for a believer!
