Hey Arj. I too am part of the body of Christ - not belonging to any denomination - or even any organisation. I would say though that the CCG does fit into the 'whatever' category. In my view it is a denomination.

They put up a great argument for sabbath(saturday) keeping.I personally would be much more comfortable in myself iff the church i currently attend would observe saturday.I came to this conclusion that, after being born again,i only then bought myself a bible and came too wonder why we changed the sabbath.

What do you think of this then? - from Colossians

Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.

Ahhh i forgot about that verse. You have a very good point.I think my problem has been my backslidding from the beginning of my walk with christ.I forgot the Spirit of Truth and started looking elsewhere for answers.

Arj - I don't want to minimise the need to continue to walk in the light of the things revealed by the Spirit but I do know that you are not alone. There are many like yourself who have a desire for the truth but get confused by the many voices out there clamouring to be heard and who claim that they alone have the truth. I would steer clear of any group that makes such a claim.

Can I make a suggestion? When you read scripture - don't read it as though you are looking for answers in it. Read it as though you are partaking of a meal and ask the Lord to lead and strengthen you as you do. He will sustain and guide you in your pursuit of the truth.

Blessings

Yes turn, Mutz is a very wise and humble individual. Able to exhit MUCH that ALL of us are ABLE to receive in edification of The Spirit that LIVES in ALL who truly follow Christ.

And Arj, our faith is NOT to be PLACED in 'men' but in God and His Son. If we KEEP our minds and hearts OPEN to The Spirit, we ARE able to find confidence and PEACE in Our Father through His Son.

To gather is NOT to be 'shuned'. But what MANY seem to 'miss' is that it is MORE important to 'gather in Spirit' than in FLESH. EACH and EVERY time we 'speak to God' in our hearts, we ARE a 'part of the Body of Christ'. Many would teach contrary to this TRUTH, but the FACT is, God loves EACH of His children. He is NOT 'respector' of persons. Wealthy, poor, blind, cripple, hungry, full; these are but PHYSICAL aspects of mankind and have little bearing on God's grace so LONG as we DO NOT let the 'flesh' SEPARATE us from Our Father.

Beware of 'false gods' and idolotry. Learn to place the THINGS of this earth in their PROPER perspective. Allow NOTHING to become MORE important in your life than God. Refuse to place your faith in 'fairy tales' or 'old wives tales'. Accept what The Spirit offers with THANKS GIVING. And NEVER forake 'speaking in such TO Our Father', (prayer).

ALWAYS 'turn BACK to God' and you will KNOW that He is a LOVING and forgiving Father. ALLOW Him to BE your FAITH and your relationship will ALWAYS continue to GROW.

Beware of 'false prophets' and USE scripture and The Spirit to guide your steps in discernment of TRUTH. Open up your heart to TRUTH and have confidence that what you NEED will BE provided SO LONG as you follow in FAITH.

And 'stay tuned' so that you are ABLE to recognize those that ARE 'Spirit filled'. For oft the answers to our prayers and needs ARE sent through His servants.

The first time I met Jesus was June 1972, this after the pangs of living a worldly life.
Drug addict Drunk Thief Blasphemer, I had done enough and then my savior stepped in.
I got to know a little about him when I preached in an open air market in Seattle,
I even some how by the hand of God spoke to two classrooms of school children,
and this is when doing something like that was illegal praise God. Then my life went
into a tailspin and I crashed. I went before the Lord and told him I had issues, and
that I would walk away until I figured out just what to do, I was pretty confused.
23 years later I sat at our kitchen table and asked him would it be possible to come
back, now understand that during that 23 years I was a Drunk, not an alcoholic,
the name they use to lesson the guilt feelings. I sat there and we had a talk, he
said I left the gate open welcome back but it wasn't that easy, I wanted to give
him my life all 100% if he would give me life and I would serve him for the
remainder of my life, we struck that bargain and within a month I was in the
hospital in a 1/2 comatose state, it was there he went to work making all of the
necessary changes. Arriving home we talked again this is when he blessed me with
the Holy Spirit. I thought I knew him before, thing is I may have known him but I
didn't know him, there in lies the difference, you give 100% he gives you the
keys to the kingdom. Today I share My Jesus with each and every person I meet
no matter what there station in life. I love the Lord and won't make a move without
him. I suppose you could call that my introduction speech..

In His Service,

Praise BE to God.

Thanks for your offering Turn. God is TRULY a 'gracious' Father and lover of His children.

It's testimony such as this that IS able to offer edification to our brothers and sisters and HOPE for those that are LOOKING for the LOVE that 'this world' is unable to offer or fulfill in one's heart.

Praise the Lord for each and every one that has been given 'eyes' that they can SEE and a heart so that they can LOVE.

Amen my brother,

MEC

When people see the joy on my face when I'm in my wheel chair they gaze in amazement
which of course opens up a large door of opportunity to share the gospel,
I've never been happier than when that door opens and it does open rather quickly.
The other thing that gets a persons attention is when I'm sharing the gospel while
their operating on me. Bless the Lord he knew exactly how to make me happy...

In His Service,

Laudable, but naive. As soon as you decide that one group does not worship the way you think is proper and then choose a church to go to, you have stepped into the muck of denominationalism. "Blessed is he who keeps his shoes muck-free". LOL. May I ask where you go to church?

The kind of worshippers that God requires are those that worship the Father in Spirit and in Truth. My worship of the Father is not determined by any church, be it denominational or otherwise. It is the Spirit that unites us to God and His Christ and it is by the Spirit that we are led into all truth. And the truth of course is Christ. Without the Spirit we cannot know Christ, nor can we worship the Father in the only way that God requires.

However, if you determine that a particular church does not teach the truth, then by your statement, they must not be worshiping "the Father in Spirit and in Truth", and so that denomination has determined for you its validity by your definition of truth. Nes Pa?

So you go to a presbyterean church, but you do not claim to be presbyterean. Is that correct? If so, then why that particular church, if you don't mind me asking?

That is not what I said. Worship is not determined by a church - irrespective of what the church teaches. Worship is determined by the Spirit that dwells within man. There are people in every denomination who worship the Father in Spirit and in truth . . . and there are those who do not.
