In Matthew 15:13-19 is the first mention of the Church (called out; assembly) by Christ. Peter is asked by Christ, "who do you say I'am,"? And Peter says, "you are The Christ, The Son of the Living God,".....Christ tells him that, "flesh and blood did not reveal it to him, but it was by the Father in Heaven," Then Christ says, while Peter is a stone or small rock, it is upon the revelation...from the Father, that Christ's called out assembly (Church) will be built upon that revelation of Jesus Christ, (Eph. 2:19-21) (Psalms 118:22) (Luke 20:17) and the gates of Hell will not be able to prevail against His assembly! And our faith in Christ (Eph. 2:8-10) (Luke 7:50) will be the keys to the kingdom to enter in and will bind us (by rebirth, Holy Spirit) to bind and loose the will of God through the direction of the Spirit. (The Assembly is not built upon Peter, but upon the revelation of Jesus The Christ and faith in Him). It is Christ's assembled (Church). Christ never gave the assembly (Church) a name....nor did He put anyone to be head of the Church, for He is the head of the body of believers. The Church is not an organization, but a living organism. (1 Cor. 12-1-31) There are no denominations with Christ. The Assembly belongs to Christ alone. The Pope, Mohamed, Buddha, The priest or pastor did not die for your sins and resurrected for your justification. You must be born again, without rebirth you are not part of the body of Christ, and rebirth requires death of self. (John 3:1-21) (Rom. 8: 1-17) (1 John 2:26-28). Have you died yet to self? And alive unto Christ. (Rom. 6:1-13) If these truths offend anyone, then I would search the heart and find out why.

Excellent post. The only error (and it surely was only the finger on the wrong key) was the conversation was from Matt. 16, not 15.---God bless, Billy.

TO BE DEEP IN SCRIPTURE IS TO CEASE BEING CATHOLIC, PROTESTANT, JEW AND CALVINIST

Excellent post!
If we can, I'd like us to look at the Greek word translated as church, which is ekklesia, which is also translated as assembly.

In modern times, we have changed the word ekklesia from assembly to church which means a group of those who follow Christ to mean a building which separates denomination.

Which church do you attend? Oh, I attend the <insert denomination> church. It's all so prevalent in modern Christianity and it's sad the world sees us divided in our differences rather than United in our commonality.

If we were to restore the original meaning of the word ekklesia, it really means no more than assembly and the idea of church would no longer resemble the idea of a denomination.

At Christianforums.net, we recognise that the ekklesia is a body of believers who assemble not inside the confines of four walls, but rather as an online community of believers who wish to share their walk in the Lord in a way that brings glory and honor to the Lord. We have the opportunity to show the world that even through our diversity, we love one another and are united in Christ .

You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. No man comes to you unless he is drawn by God who is above all and in all who will believe by faith that is Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior. This is the Church as being one body with Christ being the head of the body.

James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
