The devil thought maybe he could cheat Christ

Ezekiel 28:12-14 describes Satan having been created a cherubim,the highest created angel.He became arrogant in his beauty and status.Satan decided he wanted to sit on the throne above God Isaiah 14:13-14;1 Timothy 3:6.

But that was then. He lost all his fame and glory and possessions. So what could he boast of? Pride doesn't seem to apply (not even from the definition ) to the particular circumstance, ie during the temptation.
He was either trying to mock or was serious. But he failed completely.

Has he really failed?Look at all the millions of people he has and will not make it to heaven.That is one of his goals and he is achieving it.

He has been doing a lot of nasty things. Thanks to God who stops him in most cases.

Actually he didn't succeed with deceiving Christ

Satan always tries to copy Christ.But we know who the King is :thumbsup
