Scientists find oddly behaving 'inner-inner core' at Earth's center
Geologists observed earthquake waves to find that our planet's core isn't quite what we thought it was.

Im a BIG fan of science - but I would like to point out that this is STILL theory.

They won't. All they can do is theorize, based on the data/research that they can do.

But what can't be done is do down there and see for sure.

We can look into the Earth's core in the same manner that we can use a CAT scan to look into a human body. Instead of electromagnetic waves, we use earthquake waves, watching how they are refracted, reflected, and absorbed in various laters, using a worldwide network of seismic data.

I'm aware, Barb. But we cant SURGICALLY look into the inner earth.
And I HOPE you know me well enough to know that my post is two-edged:
  • We can know SOME things for certain, due to what you speak of.
  • We can't know SOME things for certain, due to what I pointed out.
I don't 'mean that to imply we know NOTHING, as the willfully ignorant would say. We know a lot, sure.
The picture is only becoming more clear - but it is a picture comprised of data, not actual images. It is based on an examination, but not one of physical or personal, up close examination. We are still looking at an IMAGE of what is there. As the CAT scan does. It simply is not the same as the view the surgeon with a scalpel has.

Science so far has failed to even totally explore our oceans, they failed on the weather report for my area yet again by a whole day, and now they want to theorize some other possible fallacy?

Psa 63:9 . . into the lower (hell or nether) parts of the earth.
From there, there is visibility as the rich man of Luke 16:23 could see Lazarus. Could we now assume hell will now be renamed as “Inner inner core” (Catchy name), and Abraham’s Bosom will become “Outer Inner Core”?
:clap

I'm not sure what you mean here.

Read the ENTIRE post in context, please John. YOu can't make sense of my analogy unless you read the WHOLE post in it's entirety.
I am drawing a comparison that is a "take off" on Barbarian's comparison. (You may want to read his post first, as well.)

Like I was saying.... thanks Eugene.

I'm moving my sister today, gotta run people! Long day - hope my back survives this!

I know. Just wanted to make clear how we know what we do know. I knew what you meant.

Odd story. I've had the opportunity to teach some earth science to secondary students over the years, and the sources I found already had evidence to show that the inner core was hotter than the surface of the Sun.

Ah, the new data says it's 1,000 degrees C hotter than the surface of the Sun. Still hotter than the sun, but now a lot hotter.

welders weld metals at temps near 30000 f. its brief but its hotter then the sun surface temp

Hi Pizza. In one sentence you say the conclusion is a picture comprised of data, not actual images.

Then in the next sentence you say we're still looking at an image of what is there, like a cat scan does. Your use of "images" is a bit confusing here. Can you clarify the difference in how you're applying it to both situations?

Were you wondering how many miles to the center of the Earth? The simple quick answer is 3,958.8 miles – the mean radius of the Earth in miles. In other words, if you dug a tunnel straight down, you’d reach the center of the Earth after going 3,958.8 miles, and then you’d need to go another 3,958.8 miles to reach the opposite side of the planet.

3,958.8 miles to the utmost center, but how many miles to the inner core, and then how many miles to the inner-inner core and then how many miles to the as-yet-undiscovered inner-inner-inner core?
