There a lot of Christians who have got the rebuking down to a fine art. I'm not saying abandon the scriptures, I'm saying get your head out of the book and learn how to apply what you've read not just spout verses.

Oh I agree - apply what you've read. My point was that the Bible must be the basis for how we apply what we read, which is why reading it is so important. It's not just head knowledge, but the basis for how we live our lives.
