The end of carol singing?

hm i can't speak for anyone else buy myself, and it's been a long time since i've caroled lol but i used to with my old church group alot. but we never asked for money or expected it and we wouldn't take it, it was just for the fun of singing songs to people.

I hate to sound like Scrooge here, but I never got into caroling.

When carolers would come around to sing, I'd kind of just be standing there, or join in if I knew the song, but nonetheless felt awkward. Then I'd give them a cookie or something.

Then one year I went caroling with a group of friends, sang as my feet were frozen stiff and watched as those who opened their doors to us looked sort of awkward and then gave us a cookie or something.

I don't know, just didn't get into it.

Now, playing some great old Christmas carols on the old CD player, while my family gathers around the table to contruct Gingerbread houses, that's fun!

LOL. For a moment I thought that this was going to be one of those separation of church and state themes or "politically correct" threads where people can't practice their religion because it may offend the next guy. :D

haha! You never know anymore do you?

I always kind of enjoyed the idea of caroling. I went with a group of church teens when I was in junior high, but other than that I've never seen another group of carolers in any of the neighborhoods I've lived in during my lifetime. It's something I would like to see people do more often. But I just love Christmas music!

i thought it was called winterholidays, whispering now we dont to offend the others.

now then it's called christmas, not xmas.

jaosn

Have never gone caroling...I cannot sing, though I tend to do so in the shower sometimes. When it comes to Christmas...hubby and I would try to contribute what we could...even if only pocket change to the church....charities, and such all the more.
