You may have noticed the sun setting earlier quite quickly these latter summer days, and the sun southing more. If it seems to be happening quickly, it's not your imagination. The sun always changes its declination fastest near the equinoxes, one of which we are approaching soon. At the soltices, (first day of summer or winter) the sun just sits at almost the same declination for several months and nothing changes as much.
Soon we will have equal days and nights which is location dependent. At my latitude, this will occur about Sept 25 and a day or two later in the southern United States.
So, we have about 2+ weeks yet of more daylight than nighttime. Enjoy these last long days while we can.
