the feasts of Israel and prophecy

Many are familiar with the seven Jewish feasts, especially the first one: Passover. But many may not know that these feasts represent a precise prophetic timeline of events concerning both the Church and the nation of Israel.

The crucifixion of Jesus coincided perfectly with the Passover; His burial with the feast of unleavened bread; and His resurrection with the feast of firstfruits; just as His coming and presence through the Holy Spirit occurred precisely on the day of Pentecost (feast of Weeks).

Given that every one of the first four of the seven feasts were synchronized with major events concerning Jesus' ministry, the next 3 feasts will most certainly see this pattern of prophetic fulfillment continue. The next feast in the sequence will be the feast of trumpets, the Christian term for the feast known as Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.

Indeed, many--including Messianic Jews--believe that the return of the Lord to gather together His elect will occur during a future feast of trumpets. (This feast involves both a "last trump" and an "unknown day and hour," by the way).

The following links are only a few of the many sites out there dedicated to educating believers on the endtime prophetic fulfillment of the feasts during the last days of the Church age:

Jesus begins His second work at Trumpets, in darkness as it always falls on a new moon, invisible.

Jesus then fulfills Atonement as the calf and lamb whose blood is sprinkled 14 times on the altar, this is done in Heaven (rev 5, the lamb that looks as though it has been slain).

These two feasts are fulfilled in the heavens or spirit if you will because, just like Pentecost, Jesus fulfilled the physical aspect of the feast but it was ultimatly fulfilled in the Spirit when they received the Holy Spirit.

Likewise Jesus returns but these feasts are fulfilled at the spiritual level.

And at Tabernacles Jesus is revealed to His bride first (like the first time He resurrected) and was revealed to up to 500 people.

Notice even though hundreds of thousands would have been in Jerusalem only a maximum of 500 recognized Jesus. So this tells me that even if all eyes were to see Jesus not all eyes will recognize Jesus at His return. Only those who resurrect... They will hear His voice.

I like the picture because it's a good picture is why.
Not that sure about the exact time-line and eschatology though. Instead of saying, "To be fulfilled during the Second Coming of Jesus" for the fall events in the caption, I'd simply say "Future events". :)

29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. (Matt 24:29-31)

Hi randy,

In a recent discussion about the symbolic meaning of these feast, there was a question about the wedding - the marriage supper of the Lamb, as mentioned in Rev 19:7-9. Our conclusion was this happens during the Feast of Tabernacles. Any comments?

Don't mean to butt in,

Unleavened bread is 7 days long, like a biblical wedding. At Passover Jesus said that His blood was the New covenant, like a wedding covenant. Passover can be seen as the first marriage supper of the lamb.

Unleavened bread the saints are resurrected with Jesus and they celebrate the wedding feast.

Tabernacle/Ingathering is also a 7 day feast lev 23. Likewise in the resurrection Jesus and the saints resurrect together and celebrate the 2nd marriage supper of the lamb.
