The reason that the First resurrection is called the first resurrection is because it happens FIRST in the sceme of things.

Revelation 20:4And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
5But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

The significance of these two resurrections is that the Millennial rule of Christ occurs between them. In other words, the millennial rule starts with the First resurrection and ends with the Second resurrection.

Christ's millennial rule can best be explained as the time in which Satan is bound and Christ rules the nation (with a rod of iron) from Jerusalem.
?
Christ told us of these two resurrections.
?
John 5:28Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
29And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
?
That's all there is, folks.

I'm glad to see that someone understands that there are two resurrections. The last resurrection is the separation of the sheep and goats. :thumb :clap

How have you MISSED totally, that our Lord Jesus is showing in John 5 that at a certain "hour", at the sound of His voice, the resurrection unto life, and the resurrection unto damnation BOTH happen at the same timing?

John 5:28-29
28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear His voice,
29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
(KJV)

So HOW can that mean the "resurrection of damnation" there is the inferred second resurrection that's to happen AFTER His thousand years reign? WHY have you missed there's NO thousand years time gap here in John 5, and that both of these John 5 resurrections happen at the same time?

I suggest you study what Apostle Paul taught on the resurrection in 1 Corinthians 15 more deeply. And pay greater attention to the Rev.20:6 verse.

Rev 20:6
6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.
(KJV)

The "second death" is defined in Rev.20:14 as the casting into the "lake of fire" at the end of the thousand years. The question is, just WHAT is it that is cast into that lake of fire. It's not the flesh body, for death of one's flesh body is the FIRST death. Even with the example our Lord Jesus gave about the "rich man" in Luke 16 dying, being buried and then finding himself in hell should have showed you that.

The first resurrection is only for the Elect at the beginning of the thousand years. At the end of the thousand years is the separation of the sheep and goats.

Explain this...

Rev 3:9
9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
(KJV)

Our Lord Jesus said that to the Church of Philadelphia. The subject is the time when Christ will force those of the "synagogue of Satan" to come and worship at their feet, to know that Christ has loved His own. How is that tied to the time of Ezekiel's temple and the time of Christ's "thousand years" reign? (Hint: Ps.2; Rev.19:15).

:chin :confused Perhaps you should ask one question at a time.

The fallen angels are tied up in Hell at the first resurrection for a thousand years, they return to be distroyed at the second resurrection.
