The Garden of Eden As A Crime Scene

Many people feel that God was being cruel when he banished Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden. But consider what happened. Adam and Eve chose to take and eat of the forbidden Tree of the knowledge of good and evil. In doing so they incurred the punishment that God had warned them previously, which was death.

After Adam and Eve's sin in the garden of Eden, the Garden became a crime scene.

Evidence had to be secured and preserved since man's disobedience brought with it death to everything under his domain, this included everything in the Garden of Eden.

Just imagine that if mankind remained in the garden of Eden then both the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and the tree of life, would die off leaving Satan off the hook for all the evidence of his involvement would disappear! Equally if the tree of life disappeared then any hope of man's redemption would disappear as well.

By kicking Adam and Eve out of the garden of Eden, God not only preserved the evidence of our disobedience, but the hope of our redemption that would have been lost if the tree of life died off along with everything else.

So here you have Adam and Eve hiding from God, and from each other, because of their disobedience. And it should be noted that since both man and woman were created in God's image, and when Adam and Eve sinned, they hid from each another because they recognized God in each other's likeness and it produced the same shame and guilt as if God were actually standing before them!

God Bless

Quite interesting view, ugmug ... I hadn't quite considered the Garden of Eden as a crime scene. But of course, it can easily be viewed in that manner.

Thanks for sharing this with us :wave2

Gen 3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

It was at that time that the way of the Lord (tree of life) that was prepared in Heaven even before the foundation of the world would now come into the world as the word (God) was later made flesh (Jesus) came to dwell amongst us and now even dwells in us through Gods Holy Spirit.

I'm curious as to what Scripture there is in this account about Adam & Eve hiding from each other. You say, "Adam and Eve hiding from God, and from each other" and in the same sentence, you repeat the "hiding from each other". I see nothing about that, do you?

I can understand why Eve would hide from Adam:biggrin

Gen 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
