When transcribing our Church Youth Camp teaching this year from CD’s, Brother Hawkins made the following comments I had never heard, and I truly believe to be the truth.
1 Thes 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
“The God of peace is the power of the Holy Ghost. You’ll find that in Hebrews 13:20. It says this, now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus Christ, that great shepherd of the sheep. It was the power of the Holy Ghost that raised up Jesus from the grave after three days (Rom 8:11), and so we find that He is the God of peace. Any time you see God of peace in the scripture, we’re talking about the Holy Spirit. What will He do? He will sanctify you wholly, and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. And this is what the Holy Ghost is wanting to do in our lives in order to accomplish the full sanctification of setting us apart unto the Lord.”

“God not only proposing peace with the subjects of a revolted empire . . . revealing Himself divinely and essentially as "the God of peace." And “God, as the "God of peace.”
