Carol Arnott is the founder of the Toronto Blessing.
She claims to be a prophet of God and received from God the Golden Sword Prophecy.
This belief is spreading across Christian churches around the world under various guises.
Tell me what you think of this.


 
I would imagine Todd's there, along with the Arnotts & a host of others to form a mixed bag .... that way, you'll never know what you'll face when the curtain opens.
 
Meeting God in contemplative prayer and good gospel music works for me. Not impressed by swinging swords and rolling on the floor.
 
There are bible allegories that involve swords. For example the flaming swords blocking the entrance to the Garden of Eden after Eve and Adam were booted out. And Ephesians 6:17 is refering to the scriptures as "the sword of the spirit" as an offensive weapon against the darkness. So maybe that's what she's talking about.
On the other hand, the way she's talking about not looking to the past and God doing a "new thing" sounds like she claims she has got a new revelation that is better than the old scriptural one. That's like kissing sola scriptura good bye.
Now there are many christian branches that aren't totally strict with sola scriptura. And it's possible people may have a spiritual gift of prophesy to serve their church. But there's always a risk "prophets" and individual revelation may lead people or entire churches astray from God.
Especially when everyone is so emotional and psyched up as those people in that video are. Not my sort of worship.

However, I'd really like to know what those people experience while rolling on the floor.

Unfortunately I do already have plans for the weekend. :-( But I must keep my eyes open in the future. Or maybe that event in Peine will start a pentecoastal charismatic revival in Germany (we sure need a revival here).
 
I'm not sure this kind of revival is what you want.
If they rely on experiences and sensationalism and stray away from sound scripture.....

Yeah you're right.
But (just to dwell on a little stereotype) a mere sensationalist revival will not make it very far in Germany thanks to our sceptical and overly intellectual nature. :D We are way too introvert and inhibited cool to roll over the floor and laugh maniacally. :cool:

Seriously though. I'd really like to see one of those worship events first hand, with people rolling on the floor and acting crazy. That's not very christian of me, but I'd be very curious about the experience. I'm certain it's way more about suggestion (like in hypnosis) and being swept away by the emotional atmosphere (music, emotional language, emotional praise) than about the real Holy Spirit, but it might be fun and educational to let go of myself and allow for that kind of experience to happen to me. That's probably a bit shallow of me, sorry. :oops:

The thing that bothers me most about those Toronto Blessings and similar events is that it seems to be all about those people and their emotions, their experience, their healing, and so on. When the Holy Spirit was poured out first time during pentecoast the disciples started praising the Lord in different languages. And then they started preaching the word and healing people. So the holy spirit is for making us praise and serve Him. Looking at what motivates people to attent services of that kind (judging from interviews that can be seen in various videos on the internet) they come so that God may serve them. It's not about the Lord, it's about what the Lord does for them. And after the service they return home and maybe they feel high and changed for another week, but then they continue with their lives. and I wonder how many of those people will bear lasting fruits of the spirit? Of course God does serve us and care for us, but that's NOT the main focus of christianity. The miracles are SIGNS to point us to the truth, but they aren't the core of the truth.
 
For me it is difficult to watch that and not feel both sad and angry. Yet I suppose God can bend even that to His purpose.
 
All we can do is compare what's happening here with scripture. As Christians we know that God does some pretty amazing things, we have scripture, the world looks at this differently, they need an explanation.. Are these folks speaking Japanese for those in the crowd that are Japanese? Are people calling on the Lord to be saved? I honestly don't think those that are barking and mooing are doing it for any purpose, those in my opinion are a tares in the wheat field..

Acts 2: And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?

13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

I woke up from a dream today July 20th, 2022

I saw women scattered running for their lives fighting to survive and escape the enemy.
The soldiers were dressed in black attire suited up and armed.

A dozen women were running for their lives through many obstacle courses. Some hidden in water. Others underground with nothing but cement bricks and dirt floors with only the clothes on their backs. NO children were present though as I was there I remember thinking of mine..
Some had to dig through Graves and find their way of escaping the fight that had been ordered by their leader, the devil.
Not everyone survived..
I kept saying things of God and of Jesus Christ and those TWO names I shouted for ALL to hear, acknowledge, and know the power that can save! JEHOVAH

I came onto of a dark hilltop with gravel like rock and high as a mountain.
Infront of me stood a red devil the size of a man and beast. His eyes did glow with fire of fury.
I spoke again of God and Jesus Christ to the devil and a bright golden glowing sword fell from Heaven into my hand to strike the devil as he stood. As I swung at the devil He caught the sword with his right hand and when he caught it his hand turned from a red dirty beast to a white human hand. He looked at the formation for a few moments like he hadn't seen himself human in a long time. He said, "GOD" like a question mark and KNEW as he dispersed. The devil fleed and victory had been won! A great multitude of a flock of witnesses cheered giving thanks to God and shouting "Praise The Lord!"

And I was shaken from my sleep and awoke to God's prompt!

1 Peter 5:8
"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour."

It will be harder for women, especially those who have small children for when the son of perdition takes his seat in Jerusalem we are to flee into safe places that God will provide for us.

Dreams like this can be wake up calls from God, even though scoffers will scoff, but in the end will be taken as a thief in the night.
 
Here are parts of my dreams and thoughts that run through my head.


Imagine in your mind that one day you wake up and your world as you knew the night before has now changed forever. The sky is darkened and the moon gives no light any longer as a thick cloud of smoke covers this planet that has choked out all vegetation and turned our water into cesspools of contamination. This will either come from the fall out of the aftermath of a nuclear explosion or that of God’s great wrath being poured out into the world during the first six trumpets. During the time of worldwide chaos the son of perdition prepares to take his literal seat in Jerusalem promising peace, safety and provision to all who will bow down and worship him.

Those who survived are running frantically in the streets just trying to fend for themselves and what is left of their family. A child sits by the dead rotting bodies of what use to be their family, crying from fright and hunger. All of a sudden you are rounded up like cattle by the Militia and placed in detention camps to be sorted and numbered not knowing what is going to happen to you.

Within the shell of a room filled with more people than what capacity should be holding all you can see is people passing by the bared windows as they march in a single line as men with guns strapped to their backs are pushing them further along the line to hurry them to where they are heading. Then all of a sudden you hear shots ring out and people screaming and crying as they watch those before them die in a bloodshed of flying bullets.

Your heart is pounding and you can hardly catch your breath when someone in that darkened room with you shouts out that there is no God and we are all going to die. In your heart you know Jesus is very real, but for a passing moment you are so caught up in the devastation that you forget those words of Jesus that says those who endure until the end are those who will be saved. Instead of reaching out to those who are with you, you are so frightened even for your own life that you forget the Biblical accounts of Paul and Silas as they sang praises to the Lord while they were imprisoned.

All of a sudden silence fills the air for a moment and then the doors of that darkened room swing open with guards yelling at everyone to form a single line and follow them. Here is your last chance to save a soul as they lead you to the shooting wall. The guards take you one by one as they speak to you they ask, “Are you one of those Christians?” You are so scared and your mind is confused from the dumbfound ness of everything that is happening that words are hard to speak, but you answer that you are a Christian. Then the guard gives you an opportunity to renounce Jesus and they would place you back with your loved ones and give you housing and a job. You think that maybe for an instance you would take their offer so you can be with your family once again, but yet knowing that even in pretending to renounce Christ just to be with your family the words are still spoken and can not be taken back as you choose family over Christ. Will you stand for Christ and allow His witness to be the last words that come out of your mouth or will you waver for the sake of your own family or even your own life.

This writing is not so far fetched that that day will never happen here in the USA as it is now happening in other parts of the world even as I write this and will happen here in the future. We are not to fear what has to come, but be prepared for what must come before the glorious return of Christ to take his bride to meet him in the clouds to be with him forever.

I am asking all who read this that if you have not made that decision to ask Jesus into your heart to please not put it off as no man knows the day nor the hour Jesus will return. It could be years from now, but also could be in the next few minutes of your life. John 10:9 I am the door, if any man enter in, he shall be saved. Jesus was the word made flesh to dwell among us, John 1:14, to show us the way back to Gods grace. John 14:6 Jesus said I am the way, the truth and the life, no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Romans 10:9, 10 if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in his heart that God has raised him from the dead thou shall be saved. Vs.10 for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Please do not put this off as Christ return will be as a twinkling of an eye and then the door of Salvation will be closed forever.

Luke 14:26, 33 If any man come unto me and hate not (hate not means putting your family first before God) his father, mother, wife, children, brethren and sister yes and his own life also he cannot be my disciple. Vs. 33 so likewise whosoever he be of you that forsakes not all that he hath he cannot be my disciple.

Rev 7:13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? 14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. 16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. 17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.​
