For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. -Romans 1:16

What is the gospel of Christ?
It is Paul's gospel, it is the Gospel of the Kingom, the Gospel of God.

A wonderous summary is given by Paul in 1 Cor 15...

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures

Paul's gospel, are you referring to 1 Cor 15:1-4 ?

Paul mention the gospel of God in several epistles Rom 1:1, 2 Cor, & 1 Thes.

Also: That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost. -Romans 15:16

But I havn't found Paul refer to preaching the gospel of the Kingdom.

Sure you have its right here;

Acts 1:3
To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

Colossians 1:13
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

Come on ,its obvious the kingdom mentioned in all three passages is the same kingdom Jesus announced , dont waste your time in some vain attempt to separate them its foolish.

Acts 28:31
Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

Of course you know Christ is the speaker mentioned in 1;3 and Paul is the speaker in 28;31 and the passage from Colossians.

The gospel of Christ is the Spiritual word of God spoken in all truths in that which is the doctrines of God taught to us by His Spirit made flesh in Christ to dwell among us teaching us all things of God.

It seems that the Gospel of Christ must be the DOCTRINE of Christ. And John penned many bottom/line Truths from John - Rev. (+ living the Longest!:thumbsup) If anything need tidying up, he could have been Inspired to do that.

In Rev, 14:6 we see the basic ETERNAL GOSPEL which surely is the Gospel of Christ, or DOCTRINE OF CHRIST! [Centeral IMPORTANCE] of looking forward from Adam + looking back from John's Inspired work.

In 2 John he DOCUMENTS..
[7] For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

(most know not that this was Christ/God of 1 Cor. 10:1-4 & the giver of the Eternal Law of God!)

[8] Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.

[9] [Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not [[in the doctrine of Christ]], hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
[10] [[If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine]], receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
[11] For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

If one wants to know this Truth, it must be found in the complete package of [Christ's WORDS!] In Matt. 4:4 He documents to one who has been around here since Adam! And Christ responded to satan from the O.T.

Matt.4

[1] Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
[2] And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
[3] And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
[4] But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, [[but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God]].

And that is what Christ said! Peace/meal 'faith' is like going to the wilderness Sanctuary & offer the Required 'lamb' at the altar and then claim I,I,I,I,I BELIEVE LORD! Rom. 8:1 and then go along your mary way back home instead of going on into the Sanctuary to to the lavor washing & then the Bread eating +! (and never you mind Rom. 8:14 of being LED)

And that you'ins is meant to mean the Matt. 7 Broadway + Rev. 17:1-5 'g'ospel/less ones, 'IN an CHRIST/LESS/FAITH OF DIS/OBEDIENCE!

Anyway, that is how Elijah here see's it!:crying:crying

What is the "it" ?

So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. -Romans 1:15

What did Paul preach?

Did you miss it the first time?

Acts 28:31

Did you miss it the first time?

No.

And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening. -Acts 28:23
And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not. -Acts 28:24

In the Roman epistle he is writing to believers.

First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world. -Romans 1:8

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. -Romans 1:16
For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. -Romans 1:17

What are they lacking?
Are they believing in vain?

What is the gospel of Christ?
The gospel of Christ is what Paul says it is earlier in Romans 1: the news that Jesus Christ is the Davidic Messiah who has been installed as lord over all creation, including this present world, in virtue of having been raised from the dead.

Many mistakenly believe that the term "the gospel" refers to the news that Jesus died for our sins so that we can go to heaven when we die.

Well, that is indeed true. And it is, of course, good news.

But it is simply not what Paul is primarily referring to when he uses the term "gospel". Of course, as Paul himself clearly points out, there is a tight connection between the gospel - Jesus' lordship over the world - and the fact that people can indeed be saved by faith.

There are other arguments that can be made to the effect that "the gospel" primarily refers to Jesus' status as lord over the world.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. -Romans 1:16

"for it (the gospel of Christ) is the power of God unto salvation"

What is the "it" ?
The "it" is the gospel - the news that Jesus is now lord over all the world. You have, whether you realize it or not, identified another problem with the view that
"the gospel" is news about "personal salvation". If it is, we have Paul saying this very confusing thing:

For I am not ashamed of announcing the fact that you can be saved by believing in Jesus, for it is the power for salvation....

This is a basically circular sentence that makes no sense at all.

Instead, Paul is saying this:

For I am not ashamed of announcing the fact of Jesus' lordship because that lordship gives us the possibility of being saved.

The verse says you have to believe (something) whatever that "something" is it is the power of God unto salvation.

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; -1 Corinthians 15:1

By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. -1 Corinthians 15:2

So according to Paul what does a person have to believe to be saved?

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. -Romans 1:16

What is the gospel of Christ?

The life and teachings of Jesus Christ are documented in the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

salvation is both personal and collective.

one cant go to church and be saved one must be saved to become part of the church and the church that we call church isnt actually the church or body.

when one is saved one become a member of the body of christ. one doesnt do church one has 'church' when the body comes together to worship god.

this is a hebrew concept as they believed that before the cross and still do even today. we western christians have this silly idea that church is only where the christian meet to worship when its wherever the believers are.

So according to Paul what does a person have to believe to be saved?
"32 “We tell you the good news: What God promised our fathers 33 he has fulfilled for us, their children, by raising up Jesus. As it is written in the second Psalm:

“‘You are my Son;
today I have become your Father.

34 The fact that God raised him from the dead, never to decay, is stated in these words:

“‘I will give you the holy and sure blessings promised to David.’

35 So it is stated elsewhere:

“‘You will not let your Holy One see decay.’

36 “For when David had served God’s purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep; he was buried with his fathers and his body decayed. 37 But the one whom God raised from the dead did not see decay.

38 “Therefore, my brothers, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. 39 Through him everyone who believes is justified from everything you could not be justified from by the law of Moses." (Acts 13:32-39 NIV1984)

I personally think it is the last paragraph particularly that one must believe in order to be saved. God makes peace with the one who truly believes that God will forgive their sins through Christ, casting themselves on his mercy without one ounce of reliance on anything good they have done, or could do to make that peace with God.

That is 'good news' because the law had no such provision for such a complete and thorough forgiveness and reconciliation to God. For as Paul states, there were offenses that the law simply could not forgive. Only in the sacrifice of Christ are any and all offenses completely and totally forgiven. And for those who know they stand thoroughly condemned by the law, a law that could not forgive all things, that most certainly is 'good news'. Praise be to God for such a wonderful salvation. The story of God's salvation through Christ truly is the greatest story ever told.
