Hello every one, i hope that you are walking in the love and joy of God.

This study is farly long so I will have to do several contuances in order to get it all posted.

Here it is:

Holy Spirit's part in Salvation.

Jesus blood wash’s and cleanses sin; water baptism removes the sin nature, and wash’s and cleanses sin. Now let's take a look at the Holy Spirit's part in the Salvation process.

1. The Holy Spirit, (H.S.) convict's people of sin.

Jn 16:8 "And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: (NKJ)

2. The H.S. is the 3 erd person of the Trinity.

3. We must be born of the Spirit in order to enter the Kingdom of God. (i.e. be saved).

Jn 3:5-8 5 Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 "Do not marvel that I said to you, `You must be born again.' 8 "The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit." (NKJ)

A. How doe's this "birth" happen? Rebirth in the Spirit doe's not; and cannot; happen until one repents;

Jn 3:3-21 3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." 4 Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?" 5 Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit." 9 Nicodemus answered and said to Him, "How can these things be?" 10 Jesus answered and said to him, "Are you the teacher of Israel, and do not know these things? 11 "Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness. 12 "If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13 "No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven. 14 "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 "that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 "And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 "For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 "But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God." (NKJ)

Acts 2:37-39 37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Men and brethren, what shall we do?" 38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 "For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call." (NKJ)

B. The baptism of the H.S. washes, regenerates, and renews us:

Titus 3:5-6 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, (NKJ) (note: "poured out" refer's to the baptism of the H.S., which was promised to be "poured out" on all flesh. (Joel 2:28-32, Acts 2:1-18))This passage implies that the baptism of the holy Spirit is the third part of salvation; and no one's salvation is complete without it. (i.e. since the day of Pentecost forward). This is why Paul's #1 concern when he meet new believer's in other cities was to ask if they had received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit when they believed.

Acts 19:1-6 1 And it happened, while Apollos was at Corinth, that Paul, having passed through the upper regions, came to Ephesus. And finding some disciples 2 he said to them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" So they said to him, "We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit." 3 And he said to them, "Into what then were you baptized?" So they said, "Into John's baptism." 4 Then Paul said, "John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus." 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied. (NKJ) (note: this is one passage that proves that the baptism of the H.S. is separate from, and in addition to, what we receive when we believe in/on Jesus. (unless we receive it at the time we repent. (Acts 10:24-48, 19:2-6, Jn 20:22, Lk 24:49, Acts 1:4-5)) And because this was Paul's 1st concern when he first met believer's; we can be CERTAIN that every believer of the first century was baptized in the Holy Spirit, without exception! (from the day of Pentecost on). (also see Acts 2:37-39 where the Baptism is promised to all believer's). Hence when the N.T. writer's write about the H.S.; it is understood by them that the people they were writing to, were baptized in the H.S.. Hence, when Paul talk's about people being "sanctified by the H.S." (Rom 15:16 that I might be a minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering of the Gentiles might be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit. (NKJ) II Thes 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth, (NKJ) etc.)

1 Cor 6:11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. (NKJ)) he is referring to the baptism. of the H.S. Thus the baptism. of the H. S. is an essential part of our salvation. 4. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is what baptize's us into the body of Christ; I Cor 12:13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body-- whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free-- and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. (NKJ)

Eph 1:13-14
13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.
NKJV

2 Cor 1:21-23
21 Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, 22 who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.
NKJV

II Cor 5:5 Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee. (or “down payment†or “vested interest in our redemptionâ€) (NKJ)

The word guarantee means:

NT:728
arrhabon (ar-hrab-ohn'); of Hebrew origin [OT:6162]; a pledge, i.e. part of the purchase-money or property given in advance as security for the rest:
KJV - earnest
(Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright (c) 1994, Biblesoft and International Bible Translators, Inc.)

If someone has not been baptized in the Holy Spirit; God has not yet shown vested interest in completing the salvation of that person. In the same way that if you went out and looked at a house. You decided that you liked that house. You told the realtor that you wanted to by the house. But you gave the realtor no down payment for the house. By doing so you are showing that you are not dedicated to buying the house. But if you give the realtor a down payment; then you are making a guarantee to the realtor that you intend to finish the purchase of the house. In the same way God shows us that he is interested in “finishing the purchase†when He baptizes us with the Holy Spirit.

Hence no one is a true Christian until he has been baptized. in the H.S.

5. Baptism. of H.S. is proof that we are God's son's;

Gal 4:6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, "Abba, Father!" (NKJ)

6. The baptism of the H.S. is proof that God abide's in us, and we in God.

I Jn 4:13 By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. (NKJ)

7. Baptism of H.S. is God's acknowledgement that we have indeed truly repented, and that He has accepted us;

Acts 15:7-9 7 And when there had been much dispute, Peter rose up and said to them: "Men and brethren, you know that a good while ago God chose among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe. 8 "So God, who knows the heart, acknowledged them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He did to us, 9 "and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. (NKJ)

8. The baptism of the H.S. is promised to those who repent; and is received (in some case's), upon repentance;

Prov 1:23 Turn at my rebuke; surely I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you. (NKJ)

Jn 14:15-17 15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 "And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever--17 "the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. (NKJ)

39 "For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call." (NKJ) Acts 5:32 "And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him." (NKJ

Acts 15:8-9 8 "So God, who knows the heart, acknowledged them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He did to us, 9 "and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. (NKJ)

Acts 10:44-48 44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word. 45 And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. 46 For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Then Peter answered, 47 "Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?" 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then they asked him to stay a few days. (NKJ)

9. Baptism of Holy Spirit is given when we believe on/in Jesus, (provided that the convert is instructed concerning this truth and exercise’s faith to receive it, (Acts 19:1-6, 11:15-17, Gal 4:6, Jn 7:37-39)

So how doe's someone KNOW when he has been baptized in the H.S.? He will have at least one (maybe more) of the 9 manifestation's of the H.S. operating in and through him. Mk 16:16-18 16 "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 "And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 "they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." (NKJ) Cor 12:7-13 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: 8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills. 12 For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body-- whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free-- and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. (NKJ)

Well, by now it should be obvious that when Peter said in Acts 2:38 "...Repent, and let everyone of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sin's: and you SHALL (not 'maybe', or might!), receive the gift of the H.S." That he was giving us 3 essential's to salvation (i.e. from Pentecost on). There can be no doubt that the true Church of Jesus Christ operates in the manifestations of the Spirit today, just as the first century churche's did! For the Scripture say's:

Mk 16:17-18 17 "And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 "they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." (NKJ) (note: these sign's follow those who BELIEVE; not just to first century believer's; nor just until the so called "cannon" was complete; but for those who believe throughout the centuries!)

John 14:12 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. (NKJ) (once again; this promise is made to those who BELIEVE)!

39 "For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call." (NKJ) (notice that the promise of the baptism of the H.S. is promised to "as many as the Lord our God will call." And no one come's to God unless he call's them. Hence this promise is for every believer today)!

I Cor 2:4-5 4 And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. (NKJ)

I Cor 4:19-20 19 But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord wills, and I will know, not the word of those who are puffed up, but the power. 20 For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power. (NKJ) (notice that the Kingdom of God is not in word only; but in power!

The word Power = Strong's # 1411 dunamis (doo'-nam-is); from 1410; force (literally or figuratively); specially, miraculous power (usually by implication, a miracle itself): KJV-- ability, abundance, meaning, might (-ily, -y, -y deed), (worker of) miracle (-s), power, strength, violence, mighty (wonderful) work. (DIC)

This is the same word used by Jesus in Acts 1:8 "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." (NKJ)

In Acts 2:1-38 we see the beginning of what type of power was meant by Jesus. And it is this type of power that those who are in the Kingdom of God have. So it stand's to reason that if you and the church you are attending do not have this power operating in you/it. You/it have not yet entered the Kingdom of God! So then: all of the churche's that don't have God's power being manifested in there service's; are filled with non-Christians. For God's Kingdom is not in word only; but in power! And those who are in God's Kingdom, have God's power! Therefore if you do not have God's power; be zealous and repent; asking God to baptize you in the Holy Spirit. And Keep on asking until you get it.

Lk 11:5-13 5 And He said to them, "Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to him, `Friend, lend me three loaves; 6 `for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him'; 7 "and he will answer from within and say, `Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you'? 8 "I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs. 9 "So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 10 "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 11 "If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? 12 "Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13 "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!" (NKJ)

If you ask God to baptize you in the Holy Spirit, He wont give you a demon!

1 Cor 12:31 But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way. (NKJ)

1 Cor 14:1 Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. (NKJ)

We are to earnestly desire to operate in the manifestations of the Holy Spirit.

Well, this conludes this study.

God bless

Did you write all of this out yourself?

Yes, This is an original study. However I completed it a few years ago. Its been sitting my hard drive ever since.

Have a great day.

If you did, bravo, that was a nice read! :clap

Thank you for the compliment, but the credit belongs to the Holy Spirit who did this study through me. I thank the Holy Spirit for doing this work through me. For without Him, I could not have done this work! So all glory and honor are His: not mine.

Ok you seem to be REAL big on water baptism for salvation mate.

But there is still no scripture to support it.

"Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God

I was born of water (my mothers womb) and I was born of the Spirit (the regenerative baptism in the Holy spirit)

One Baptism. Of the Holy Spirit. No water required.

If you wanna do a water Baptism then thats fine. I actually think it's a nice thing to do.

But please don't tell me I'm not a Christian coz I havn't been through a ritual dunking.

We are justified through faith ALONE and not through any work.

Doc.

So what you are saying is that one can have this [faith] without being Born Again & just skiping Acts 5:32 ETERNAL Truth, huh???:screwloose

And young'in, the Holy Spirit is GIVEN TO [[[ONLY]]] them who [[[OBEY HIM!]]]! And He is the INSPIRATION behind all of the Bible penman. 2 Peter 1:20-21's KNOWING THIS [[FIRST]]..'!
Then Matt. 4:4 + 2 Tim. 3:16!

No I'm just saying you dont need a water baptism. We are baptized by the Holy Ghost. :screwloose

'We are huh?' And your Scripture for that is...
I think that one best OBEY His 'Required' Inspirationon, not your Jer. 17:5 post!

'We are huh?' And your Scripture for that is...

"The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit."

Now wheres yer WATER baptism scripture?

3:2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the
works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? [Lolz.....or by the dunking of water??]

Are you yet again condemning believers to eternal hell for not carrying out a ritual of the flesh?

The Holy Ghost applies the saving benefits of Christ unto all the elect He died for..

1 pet1:

2Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

The Sprinkling of the blood is an applacatory act, which is accomplished by the Holy Spirit..

You come across as one that does not Believe Christ in John 3:3? Or at least that this was a New Thing?? (Eccl. 3:15) Remember that Nic.. was from the True Teachings of Christs Vinyard of Isa., it were they who were given first the Psalms 77:13 Way of God in His Sanctuary.

Perhaps you come up short with understanding that Christ as/God in His earthly Sanctuary was [[ONLY]] allowed to cary on the Godheads work in a certain location? (satan had won over the first Adams domain until Christ won it back from him as the second Adam) It was only then that the Holy Spirit was allowed as Pre/known by them, to present Christ OMNIPRESENT. (did you get that?)

But that had nothing to do with one not being Born Again from Adams sin on!

King Saul we are told by INSPIRATION in 1 Sam. 10:9 that 'God gave him [[[ANOTHER HEART]]]', 'and [[[shalt be turned into another man.]]]

If that is not the REBIRTH, then you are still on the Heb. 5's milk. The rebirth came at a central location is all, (as in the O.T. limitations) as with king Saul & others.

+, Exod. 20:6LOVE ME!, Deut. 5:10 LOVE ME, and after David made near ship/wrech we see him throughly converted in Psalms 19:7-17 (see the heading above Psalms 51!) How can anyone LOVE CHRIST without being Born Again?? It can't happen!

6Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

A. How doe's this "birth" happen? Rebirth in the Spirit doe's not; and cannot; happen until one repents;

Friend, From the beginning until the end of life, salvation in Christ is the work of the Holy Spirit, Who seals Christians in God the Father; in the Holy Spirit are Jesus Christ and God the Father, by perichoresis (indwelling), so, salvation in God is the work of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit together, but in the Person of the Holy Spirit, Who proceedeth "from the Father" (John 15:26 KJV).
