it wasn't bad. I had it off by about 5 and it took about and hour. its a front wheel drive and the hoses fought me more then the housing with the pump. also pray that I find a bolt, these are hex bolts and are soft metal. stripped one taking it off and used and extractor to get it out.Prayers for tomorrow's route and for the installation of the water pump, jasonc.
Hopefully, installation of the pump will go smoothly. Is the location of the pump placement easy enough to work in, or is it like some vehicles and was placed in an awkward place?
they will be, they are oem. once off I lubricate them so that they will slide on and don't use the oem spring clamps anymore which was the worst of the fighters. Those naughty hoses! Hope they'll be in better behavior when you're installing the new pump.
Prayers for finding the proper hex bolt. You might pick up a couple of spare bolts, just in case. You could always return them once the repair is finished, provided you don't need them.
the route wasn't too bad, I could have pushed that route faster but rather then fly really fast like I did with the kmart route, I moved efficiently, but not so fast that I was running around with my head cut off. I tried to make the old bolt work. I will have to find a new one or one from a junk yard. How did the route turn out for you?
When do you think you'll have time to install the new pump?
at least I go to see a part of the ww2 relic navy airfield that I have looked at from google earth. I was able to find what a x was in the airials a darn ditch in an x pattern. I also wonder why the city uses old names for us1 then with the next address uses us1. we haven called that part of us1 commerce ave in ages. it was that way back when I was a kid and long before us1.Glad the route wasn't too bad, and that you were able to set a suitable pace, jasonc.
Hope you can find new hex bolts in short time
not really, the address in question was built prior to the creation of us1, commerce ave aka Dixie hwy. lets see here. the road called us1 is what I am talking about. also visible is the x ditch formation, barely visible is the old runways from the navy days. you can make the original east-west out. compare these to each otherView attachment 5866 View attachment 5867 View attachment 5866Now that would have been fun to finally identify what the "x" was in the aerials. How delightful!
Gotta tell you, sometimes what city councils decide make no sense whatsoever. Sounds like the US 1 and Commerce Ave situations were one of those 'makes no sense' kind of situations.
not much, well I know the town, the streets are the same. the only widened area is that road that heads east and west and has the u shaped connection. that is what I call now twin idiot project. that wasn't like that when I was a kid. both sides of it headed east and west, the southern most road didn't cross us1, and both north and south roads were both way, not we have east bound and west bound. take a gander at the sharp angle of the southern road when it connects to the northern one. I wonder what made them think like they did. it was smoothed out years later. one of two roads that had sharp turns like that. that road heads all the west to where willie lives. What a difference!
