The Life and Teachings of Jesus Christ

The life and teachings of Jesus Christ are documented in the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John in the Bible. It seems to me many Christians all but ignore these four books. Can this be justified? (Answer: No—don’t even try.)

Hi Dlijah23, I certainly will not deny your statement, but will attempt to add to it. Jesus did not complete His teaching with the four gospels; they were but the beginning and those with Him recorded the words and events.

John 1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

Acts 13:46 Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

Acts 13:47 For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.

How could this be? Galatians 1:11-12 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. 12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Should we grow further? Colossians 1:25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God. I.e., to fill up or complete the word.

What was the need? There were things not revealed to previous generations. Colossians 1:26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints.

My thoughts.

Greetings to you with love in our Lord Jesus Christ.

I been here only a day but I notice a trend in your threads. I notice that you do not respond behind of those that post under your threads. May I ask why?

The second thing I notice is that you deliver a message but you do not share any examples - can you please share your experience with Christians that ignore the Gospels? But more important what was your response to those Christians? Did you help counsel them in the right path? What did you do as a Christian to assure their hearts of the Gospel truths?

What I've noticed is a downward spiral in his posts. They're becoming critical, not productive or helpful.

That was my first thought. I don't think the premise of this thread is even backed up by fact that it needs to be discussed. If any of the books of the Bible get ignored they seem to get equal time in that regard, lol.

Elijah, I see you are on another roll of threads that subtly eludes to your point without violating the ToS.

Just to be sure we're clear, and I'll post this in all threads that I see you working this in, we consider Paul's words Inspired and sacred.

ToS said:
We consider Paul's writings to be part of the inspired Word of God. This is a Christian forum and any posting(s) that is intended to purposely distort Paul's writings will not be tolerated.

I will have to agree with your statements
