The living church

I often hear some people describe their church as a living church. Which is a dead church? What is a living church...or what do they mean when they use the phrase 'living church'?

Hi Brother,

Living Church of God is composed of living in spirit people in which there is neither Gentile nor Jew but all the same as our souls count and not the physical bodies.

They exercise Agape divine love in which the members know that when a person is born in India, Africa, Brazil, USA, etc, it is not the he himself took the birth but our Father gave him the birth in a particular home.

Such a Church is a living in spirit and they do not have a Priest as they themselves are the Royal priests. They have the Fellowship of the Seekers.

Ask, seek and knock is the way to the Royal Kingdom of God.

Actually some church names may bear the name: Living Church of God, The Living Church etc. However this is not the purpose of the thread. What I mean is, what do people mean when they say: my church is a living church? A church may be named 'The Kingdom', and a member may describe their fellowship as 'living' (a living church).

I have never used that term myself. And even if the name of a church says Living or Life does not mean it is alive in God. Does the pastor and most of the congregation have a daily personal relationship and fellowship with God that brings excitement and life? For them He is #1 in their lives. If not they do not life Jesus living in them and are just going thru a form of religion. Jesus said He was the way the truth and the Life. Some congregations only know about Him but don't know Him personally. Jesus told one Church that they had a reputation of being alive but they were dead.

Revelation 3:1"To the messenger of the church in Sardis, write: 'The one who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars says this: 'I know what you've been doing. You are known for being alive, but you are dead. 2Be alert, and strengthen the things that are left, which are about to die. I note that your actions are incomplete before my God.

what's in a name?

the church of jesus christ of latter day saints.

what does that mean?

if someone wants to call their church "the living church of God", i would suppose that they aspire to follow Jesus, obey him, and be filled with the Spirit of God.

but someone else may see it differently.
