A man prayed to God everyday of his life and part of his daily prayer included: "Lord, please let me win the lottery."

The man never won the lottery. He died and went to Heaven. The first thing he did when he got to Heaven was go to God and he asked, "God, I prayed everyday that you would let me win the lottery, just once, but you never let me win it. Why is that?"

And God replies to him, "My son, you never bought a lottery ticket..."

Not only is it a half-way funny joke, but it also teaches a lesson. You gotta be proactive, because God isn't always going to set things in your lap.
