The Marriage Bed/Undefiled

What about what homosexual men do with each other , but instead a husband and wife do. Is that considered Sodomy? Is that defiling the marriage bed? It's embarrasing to ask, but I've been wondering. :

Rose I certainly do believe that it is sodomy to the Lord. The dictionary says this;

I think that many today are deceived into thinking that they are safe because of marriage.

I personally don't feel sodomy is right simply because it is spoken against, though I would never look down on a married couple who does this, it is between them and God...but I believe anything else goes as long as it is between a married couple (meaning one man and one woman who are legally joined in matrimony).

I love the freedom to do what I please in the marriage bed and beleive that it is part of that gift God has blessed me with. He WANTS us to enjoy and please each other.

Sex is a tough word - people take it to mean a lot of different things. If you call fellatio sex then is a person who does that a virgin still? If you say they are not, then that demeans the biological significance of the hymen and the idea that Mary could be a virgin and give birth.

No, lots of girls break their hymens falling on bikes (or climbling trees or fences) and tampons and stuff like that. The significance was that she hadn't had sex, therefore ther was no sperm.

Her's my take: it 's something you do soley to give your spouse pleasure, what's dirty about that?

Actually I believe in Song of Solomon oral sex is referred to in a poetic fashion and spoken of approvingly. But, anyway, I don't believe much of what is included in discussion of sexual customs of the Hebrews is applicable to us today, and certainly not this.

It would depend on the context. Anal intercourse is pleasurable to both if generous lubrication is used. If it is done where penetration occurs to quickly it can be painful for the passive partner at least initially.

Sodomy is one of those words with several often contradictory meanings. When people say they're against it they define it to include what they don't like. To some, all sex acts except the missionary position for the purpose of procreating is sodomy and therefore sinful.

In the Mediterranean area, the Eastern part of which is the source of our Bible, it was important for women (actually girls because few brides were older than 15) be virgins. It still is among Jews, Turks, Greeks, Italians, Arabs, etc. but not just for a moral reasons-it was and is a matter of property because the father of the bride receives a dowry, or payment, for giving her as a bride. Often old wise women would or will "inspect" girls for a hymen-and some will even supply animal tissue such as a pig bladder to be inserted in the vagina prior to consummating the marriage which will produce bleeding to simulate virginity. So teenagers who fool around in those cultures would often engage in anal sex but not genital sex because of the prohibition. Anal sex is sometimes called "Greek" sex because it a preferred by many in Greece (as well as Turkey, Egypt, Bulgaria, etc.) as well as the male-to-male practice.

This is such an amazing place. You have no idea how the 'sex' issue has been hovering around my head with oral sex good or evil. Wow it is so good to talk about these things as i have always been too nervous to approach anyone in church as you would expect judgemental looks...

The whole oral sex thing has questioned my mind many times, as i can't help feel guilt for having engaged in pleasure, but it is with my husband and he needs it!

It is my duty as a wife to be attractive and do those things.....

however the guilt, where does it come from?? Before i became a mother it never struck me the slightest bit... now it is so difficult...

Secular answer: You may feel guilt if you see it as naughty but enjoy it. Or you may feel guilt if you feel it is a duty and don't enjoy it.
