Jesus never misunderstood anything said by any person speaking to Him. Today, True Believers in Christ:

1.) Have The Mind of Christ according to I Corinthians 2:16 and Philippians 2:5.

2.) Walk in the Light of The Spirit according to I John 1:7.

3.) Speak the Oracles of God according to I Peter 4:11.

4.) Are slow to speak according to James 1:19.

5.) Walk as Jesus walked according to I John 2:6.

6.) Always speak concisely and briefly according to Proverbs 10:19 and Ecclesiastes 5:3.

Therefore, if anyone:

1.) Misunderstands anything said to them.

2.) Jumps up with quick answers.

3.) Speaks a multitude of words.

They then are not filled with The Holy Spirit. This is an infallible method for discerning if anyone with whom you speak is filled With The Holy Spirit as they speak.

Try to remember, simply because a person happens not to be filled with The Holy Spirit does not mean they are going to Hell. Praise God for the authority and sufficiency of His recorded Word made available for us today within a World of babbling conjecture and intuitive ideas.

How about you? Would you say that you're filled with the Holy Spirit ?

Have you ever ...

1.) Misunderstood anything said to you.

2.) Jumped up with quick answers.

3.) Spoke a multitude of words.

.. knowingly or unknowingly ?

Yes, all of those things have repeatedly occurred in my mind and heart.

Please be ready, now perhaps, to see that the point of this thread is to help people spot error, rather than for me to claim I do not err. Do you understand what I just said in response to your noncontributive post?

I do not think the post was non-contributive. I think a good point was made. I also did not see the initial thread as a way to help people spot error.

If not for my "noncontributive" post that provoked your subsequent clarification, perhaps readers may have concluded "presumptive arrogance" on your part.

That case, according to your own definition in your first post, you are not filled with the Holy Spirit

Re: The Most Reliable Manner By Which To Know When One Is Filled With The Holy Spirit

I'm not so sure about using these texts as some kind of litmus test to determine if one is filled with the Holy Spirit.

I would have to certainly disagree regarding #6... Jesus spoke multitudes of words in various sermons during His ministry.

Paul too, preached in such a way that those who did not know the Spirit themselves accused him of being an idle babbler. There was also the incident when Paul preached until midnight and Eutychus fell asleep, fell out the window and died...Paul raised him from the dead....and went back to preaching until daybreak.

Please address the topic of the thread and not each other. Thank you.

Re: The Most Reliable Manner By Which To Know When One Is Filled With The Holy Spirit

God has said:
First & Formost is Acts 5:32 FULL 100% SUBBMISSION TO GOD in Obedience.
Acts 5
[32] And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, [[whom God hath given to them that obey him]].

And then Christ has said that 'YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN'!

Not to great on math, but spiritual simple math has obedience to God being the required starting place of Salvation! No 'i' give up Lord? has NO Born Again life given!

--Elijah

Re: The Most Reliable Manner By Which To Know When One Is Filled With The Holy Spirit

The fruit of the Spirit is how we know we are sealed and filled with (walking in) the Holy Spirit and that our salvation is a sure thing:

"...add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.

10 Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things (the qualities listed above), you will never stumble, 11 and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." (2 Peter 1:5-11 NIV parenthesis mine)

It's important to know what the obedience to God that counts looks like so that we can be careful to nurture that growth in our lives. Jesus said there will be many people who took false comfort in their 'religious' service, but who did not have the obedience that counts and will be turned away on the Day the Kingdom is cleansed.

God does not turn us into walking talking robots, we also do not become possessed by the Spirit. His influence is up to him, we are still people and still fallible. If we were infallible we could not grieve the Spirit as Paul warns us to be wary of.

Try to read the title of this thread for what it actually says, rather than compulsively reading it for what "It Sees To Say."

Are you female, perhaps ... ?

What does your post have to do with spotting people who are not filled with The Holy Spirit?

Apparently, you have ... misunderstood ... my original post. Lol.

Do you know of any person living today who is in "100% SUBMISSION TO GOD?" Yes? No? Answer up.

Yes, I see how important and characteristic it is for you to think in terms of "perhaps."

Did you not know Jesus never said:

1.) "Maybe?"

2.) "Perhaps?"

3.) "I suppose?"

Why do you?

My name is jman...so no! I'm not female. And instead of being rude and harsh could you please try some manners? And your title about knowing when one is filled with the holy spirit already seems wrong by what you started with the list. If anyone misunderstands anything said to them means they are not filled with the holy spirit, you are wrong....I believe being filled with the holy spirit is different than that.

Now, please try to talk to me in a polite manner, we are here to represent ourselves as Christians and the way you have addressed me is already a bit harsh.

All of Jesus spoken words upon any one topic can be read in just a very few moments or minutes.

Apostle Paul was not perfect, and his multitude of words recorded in Acts Ch. 20 which resulted in a young man being killed demonstrates this. Just because Paul revived the young man does not mean Paul was speaking according to Proverbs 10:19 KJV,

"In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin; but he that refraineth his lips is wise."

Apostle Paul violated Proverbs 10:19, and a young man died as a result, demonstrating the inevitably long reaching effects of personal sin, regardless of who commits the sin.

It is a pleasure and a joy for me to bring the Word of God into your mind and heart as it was written to prepare you for service to our Lord and Savior.
