The Night My Laptop ?

Reba,
I'm looking but it's a laptop so please plug it into the modem in your house by wire and let me know if it is on line and if it is the driver for the wireless is not installed or you folks forgot to set the password. I'll look again in a minute or two.

Type Drivers into the search bar of windows 7. you need to find the one that says network controller probably and will look like a triangular caution sign(this means no driver installed). Right click on that and goto properties. goto the details tab change to hardware ID there will be a really long number pick the top one and write it down then google it on another pc with find out what driver it is and download it from the manufacturers website.

Our son showed up. for a visit... JOhns computer is not working. :)

Reba, assuming that you still have Windows 10, you'll see the Windows logo in the very bottom left corner of your screen. Right next to it is the "Cortana" search box. Type the word revert into that box. It will take you to a list of choices allowing you to revert to 7.

Our son was here and it is all back to 7 now... ..
Never again will i buy Dell or microsoft...
Things are lost off that computer they had no business in my home or in my computer... i bought and paid for that computer it was not leased or rented..

Reba,
Two, oft overlooked points. MS wrote, as proclaimed, a very forward looking Key Mapping Program that was then Copyrighted, this was reported by several white papers, one of them the notable Mary Jo Foley, and about the same time the NSA joined forces with MS to apply one more open door into all windows operating systems.

Now, let's deal with an old man's opinion the coincidentally is the opinion of quite a few windoze techs and nearly all Linux techs. The Key Mapper copyrighted records and reports to some source the keystrokes of individual users or individual computers. This program was not and is not being sold, where is it?

Mary Jo once asked why MS Reps why they did not close the DOS hole in the rear of all windoze operating systems and was answered with (not a direct quote) how would we ever access their computers from the internet if we did that? Mary Jo also asked about the new hole (root kit) the NSA was, then, rumored to have helped MS install and they did not want to talk about it.

And now the NSA has acres of high-tech warehouses filled with a few computers and millions of hard drives recording?

I do not believe, on a personal level. that any windoze system after XP is safe as far as keeping anyone out of your unit, today. This all happened during the 8 series Operating Systems but any system that was still under support by MS at the time could have been updated with the undetected, unwanted root kit.

Having once loved testing new software for MS, I truely no longer trust them at all. This will never happen to Linux because people from every nation with WWW access work 24/7 on the systems and it cannot be penetrated that way. I know you will never switch ut neither of you should ever upgrade either.
