The Number of his Name

Honestly Storm, come on, there's no need for that attitude, its nothing even remotely Christ like.

I read your posts and you make good, interesting reading, but you let yourself down now and again with such a lack of humilty. I don't understand why you feel it necessary to act in such a manner towards people? Its like you've got an anger problem, or get frustrated people don't see things your way.

Maybe you didn't read the whole exchange, but seriously, when someone accuses me of trying to stifle study and growth when I am constantly challenging and encouraging people to study for themselves, yeah, I get angry. Even a cursory reading of my posts would not lead someone to the conclusion that I don't want people to study and learn!

And then there's old Elijah there calling me "blind" when I spend hours upon hours studying this stuff?!?

If I'm blind, what does that make him?!?

I study because I don't ask people to do what I wouldn't do.

We're all doing our best man. I'm far from perfect but I would encourage you to be more humble. Honestly, I'm speaking now as hopefully a friend, as a Christian brother.... just ease up a little bit, all that matters is Christ, we're just trying to piece it all together.

Humility isn't my issue. I won't even put my name on some really good work I do for fear it might make others look bad. My issue is this in a nutshell:

I'm sick and tired of busting my butt spending hours of study, learning what I have, simply to be insulted and having it dismissed by people whose idea of "study" is having read the last Jerry B. Jenkins/Tim LaHaye fantasy and passing it off as gospel here!

I dare say I spend more time with several Bibles open at once researching what I write in a single night than most people spend in a month of so-called "study" and when someone comes along - having never read another word I've written - and wants to upbraid me for stifling study, then sorry: I have no patience with them. I was actually quite restrained in my response. I could've been a great deal rougher, and have been so in the past.

Thanks for the input, but I have little tolerance for someone who claims to be "all about study" then doesn't bother to read a single thread I post before busting my chops.

Your mileage may vary.

Well, firstly, thank you for being so honest. :thumbsup I now understand where you're coming from and I admire your diligence of study, I wish I put the hours in that you do. You have just made me rethink how much time I study, so thank you, that is a wake up call that is most appreciated.

I guess all I'd like to say Storm, whether you accept my advice or not, is to just look at your responses to people sometimes, however frustrating it can be and continue to be patient.

You seem so diligent in your study, it's a shame that sometimes a reflection of all your hard work comes across in an aggressive manner. We are all different, you need to accept that not everyone will agree with what you write, or understand the points you're making. After all, people scorned Christ, and didn't believe or understand his words, so we, as servants of Christ should learn and accept that people wont always see what we see or understand what we understand.

My admiration for you is there my friend and I say it in a humble, non-patronising way. The words we put on this site are a reflection of us, it would just be a shame to let your hard work get clouded by a few rash moments.
