The Omniscience Of God Does God Know Everything ?

It is a misapplication of scripture to use John 16 as a "proof text" to make the claim that Jesus promised that the spirit would reveal all truth to all christians. That simply is not what the text says or implies. Jesus in this text was speaking specifically and directly to a select group. For this group, no Bible existed that they would be using the spirit to cypher through.

Here, Jesus said the advocate would lead YOU, (the apostles present at that time), NOT us, to all truth!

Holy Spirit is here. He leads all of those who are disciples of Jesus into all truth. That is WHY HE CAME!

Yes, but???

Whatever was spoken to the disciples is for us. That is why God preserved His word for us! Holy Spirit who lives in me teaches me from the word of God as He does in any Christian who seeks after God.

Says who?

Says God. It is His Holy word. If you choose to disregard the inspired word of God as a message to you personally, and reject the truth, and the spiritual knowledge, and life and power within it, that is your choice.

How do you receive truth? What does your understanding of God's inspired cause you to conclude?

Perhaps you need to change your user name...

Perhaps we are having a failure to communicate. It seems as if you are getting the impression that I reject scripture as the authority. I assure you that that is not the case. What I am saying is that I do not see where in scripture the claim you made can be substantiated.

I am asking you to relate how you believe that Holy Spirit who has come to earth to convict men of sin and to lead us in the truth of the word of God is not true.

John 14:16 NLT
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.

John 16:5-15 NLT
5 “But now I am going away to the One who sent me, and not one of you is asking where I am going. 6 Instead, you grieve because of what I’ve told you. 7 But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you. 8 And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment. 9 The world’s sin is that it refuses to believe in me. 10 Righteousness is available because I go to the Father, and you will see me no more. 11 Judgment will come because the ruler of this world has already been judged.
12 “There is so much more I want to tell you, but you can’t bear it now. 13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. 14 He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine; this is why I said, ‘The Spirit will tell you whatever he receives from me.’

1st off, I do NOT believe that the Lord's HS is not real or true. What I have said was that the Lord's promise of HS was NOT make to everyone of all times. I believe that the HS was sent out EXACTLY as Jesus said it would be and to whom Jesus said he would send it.

Now, Holy Breath (the HS), which is a special manifestation of the unseen force of God that is given to SELECT men has been real since perhaps the beginning of time. God did not promise that He would fill all men of all times who believe in His Anoint One with it during their lifetimes. What God did say back in Joel was that He would pour out His Spirit on all flesh and that the sons and daughters (descendants) of those to whom Joel was a contemporary would prophesy. Many have misused this text to say that God promised everyone His Spirit, but when we look at scripture for the explanation of what God meant, we get a different answer for in Acts 2, Peter explains that those words were being fulfilled in his generation which Joel and other bible prophets referred to as the last days.

What I am trying to do is speak where the scriptures speak rather than making assumptions or accepting the religious traditions of men that suit my interests and desires. I am searching for truth, and sometimes the truth can hurt.
Think about this. Why would I or anyone else who believes in the Lord want to believe that the HS is was not promised to his generation? I would love to wrong in my conclusion because I would LOVE to have the gift of the Lord's special breath! Does not believing we today are promised exactly what the apostles were promised mean I think God is somehow unfair? MAY IT NEVER BE, because even if I were to do all things right I would still be but an unworthy slave. So no matter what my promised hope is whether it be a heavenly inheritance, age lasting life on earth, or reigning with Jesus, I'll gladly and thankfully accept because no matter what I am convinced that God's grace is sufficient!

You need the assurance of God by the Holy Spirit, who reveals you what truth is, that He is indwelling every believer.

Romans 8:5-16 NLT
5 Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. 6 So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. 7 For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. 8 That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.
9 But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.) 10 And Christ lives within you, so even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life because you have been made right with God. 11 The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.

12 Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do. 13 For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of the Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live. 14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.
15 So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.†16 For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.

Both of you are wrong dead wrong, the both of you just do not know what you are talking about. I can tell that you both have not been overcome by The Holy Ghost.
Because if you did, you would not be talking like that. Have you both ever seen the Holy Ghost take over many people at the same time ? Or have you ever read about Jesus sending the Comforter ? And have you both read about what The Holy Ghost did when He came ?

I am a born again Christian filled with the Holy Spirit, speak in tongues and been with the Lord for 41 years. One thing that comes to mind on your reply is that "Do not judge others and you will not be judged" To this Man a gift and to that Man another. Walk a mile in ones shoes before you judge them, in fact the Holy Spirit does not Judge and neither do I. So we are allowed to Ask questions of God to further our knowledge. How can anyone learn by judgemental replies that are of absolutely NO use to the topic at hand but only shows how blindfolded and locked into the 4 square walls the person is!
I Pray for such a person that the Lord shall set them free.
The comforter comforts me, he does not judge me and stir up anger and hatred towards others against me. The others do that on their own because of their lack of love, understanding and knowkledge.
