The religious world teaches that you can believe what you want to believe, and they'll believe what they want to believe, and everybody's going to end up at the same place, they're just going to be taking different roads to get there.

But the Bible teaches that there is only one road to heaven. In Matthew 7:13-14 Jesus taught that that road is very straight and it's very narrow, and there are only going to be few individuals who find that road.

In Matthew 7:21 Jesus teaches us who those individuals are going to be. It's going to be those individuals who do the will of God. Jesus makes it very clear. He said it's not everyone who just says, “Lord, Lord”. You may believe in God, you may think you're doing the right thing, but you have to make sure you're doing what God has commanded you to do.

So how do you know if you're saved? How do you know if you're lost? You know, the Bible teaches us that we can know that we are right with God. In 1 John 5:13 the Bible says, “These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know,” notice that. That you what? “That you may know that you have eternal life and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.”

As John was writing, John says I'm letting you know that you can know that you are right. You can have this confidence. You can know that you are saved. But at the same time the other side of that coin teaches us that we can know we are lost.

But why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do the things which I say?” Jesus said why do you call me Lord, Lord? Why are you calling me your Lord but you're not following me and you're not doing what I say? What's the point in that? The answer is there is no point. If you're going to call Jesus Lord, you better do what He says.

And if you're not willing to do what He says, don't call Him your Lord. There's no point in calling Him your Lord if you're not willing to follow Him. And so yes, we must confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. But in doing that, it's more than just a confession. It's understanding that now it's about me submitting my life completely and totally, all of God and none of me.

Or put another way; “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved” Acts16:31. God has already done all of the work. All you must do is receive, in faith, the salvation God offers Ephesians 2:8-9. Fully trust in Jesus alone as the payment for your sins. Believe in Him, and you will not perish John 3:16. God is offering you salvation as a gift. All you have to do is accept it. Jesus is the way of salvation John 14:6.

The just penalty for sin is infinite and eternal, only God could pay the penalty, because only He is infinite and eternal. But God, in His divine nature, could not die. So God became a human being in the person of Jesus Christ. God took on human flesh, lived among us, and taught us. When the people rejected Him and His message, and sought to kill Him, He willingly sacrificed Himself for us, allowing Himself to be crucified John 10:15. Because Jesus Christ was human, He could die; and because Jesus Christ was God, His death had an eternal and infinite value. Jesus’ death on the cross was the perfect and complete payment for our sin 1 John 2:2. He took the consequences we deserved. Jesus’ resurrection from the dead demonstrated that His death was indeed the perfectly sufficient sacrifice for sin.

I agree, remember God said not to take His name in vain.

Glory to God! The Holy Spirit speaks to your heart. That's why you have posted this! You know Jesus and He Knows You, Amen!!!!!!!!!!

This is Gods instruction for His plan of salvation through His grace that we can know for a surety that we will be with him for eternity.

John 10:9 I am the door, if any man enter in, he shall be saved.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto
the Father, but by me.

John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

Colossians 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Colossians 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Colossians 3:3 For ye are dead and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Colossians 3:4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
Colossians 3:5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
Colossians 3:6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
Colossians 3:7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
Colossians 3:8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
Colossians 3:9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
Colossians 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
Colossians 3:11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
Colossians 3:12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
Colossians 3:13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
Colossians 3:14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

I found this on the Ann Arbor, Michigan, Church of Christ site. How does it compare to your beliefs on baptism? I can agree that water baptism can be a confession of faith in the work of Jesus at the cross. thanks Deb "water baptism is our confession of the sufficiency of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus to save us from sin. "

That would be correct and I provided scripture here in Romans....

Romans 6:3-5 (KJV)
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection.
