THE OUTPOURING OF THE SEVEN VIALS
(Revelation 15:1—16:21)
The seven angels in heaven march out of the tabernacle of God in their dress uniforms. Each carrying one of the seven vials. Each vial contains a plague that is to be poured out on mankind. These seven vials are the wrath of God. God’s patience with the rebellious ungrateful human beings left on the earth has come to an end. God’s grace has ended and God’s judgment has now come to mankind.
Revelation 15:2
"And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God."
A "glassy sea" was mentioned before in 4:6; however, neither the people nor the fire were mentioned there. In 4:6 the glassy sea is before the throne; that is, it is in the heavens. Hence, "standing on the glassy sea" in 15:2 indicates that these people have been raptured to the throne in heaven. This portion of the Bible tells us that these people have passed through the great tribulation and have encountered the beast, the image of the beast, and the number of the beast. Revelation 14:4-16 shows us a perspective of the rapture by God as seen from the earth. Revelation 15:2 shows us the perspective as seen from heaven.
Take note this verse also shows the rapture is at the end of tribulations.
