While this may seem like a good idea, is it possible it can become too much of a self indulgence or boasting thread? I think caution would be advised.

Mm, yeah. What WIP said. I try to keep my good deeds a secret if possible, or unless people specifically ask me about it.
I will add on the next two verses from the ones WIP already gave.
Mat 6:3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
Mat 6:4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
There is no such thing as a "do goodr" as what we do are the continued works of the Lord as we let the light of Christ shine out from us that others will come to know Him. Matthew 25:35-40 are the continued works of the Lord through us and we need not boast as our treasures are stored up in heaven.
